2019 Cold Wars

Of course some clown, a sick bay commando, has to blow his back the week before. After sitting around for entire month, it is now that I must travel. At least I am not flying some where. If I had to fly, I would have been cheated again. Just like Fall In, stuck in Japan.
I get my hotel points and time to paint all week. Still the customer site is 6ish hours away. I have to drive through NJ. I hate 287. It could take 35 minutes or 3 hours. I live in Lancaster! This is bullshit. I told old boy I have VA shit to do. He has to cover!
All the terrain is packed and staged for Friday's and Saturday's tourneys. The NE group boys are other way down. Yet I failed to take an army with me for tonight. it would add an extra hour to go get one.

The first game was a primer opening night against Shawn's Squats. He played the old list. It went for 1-0 at the end of turn 3. I wasn't about to play another turn.
Friday was the Warmaster tourney. I won the first game and the next two rinsed. When things go right they really go right. And when they don't, its all ass sandwiches. My last game saw 11 priest first order failures. In a row!
A very good day over all. Beers emptied and cigars smoked.

The Epic tourney was Saturday, I will debrief at a later date. I took 3rd place with "69" points by design.
The vendor I stayed out of for the most part. I scored some more Arabs and Camel corps. Plus two books. The garage sale was shit this year. Zero goodies being unloaded. I found only one rare book, Custer.

Then in the large hall there was a total badass Zulu game. OH MY!!!!!!!

Next year I will have to GM some games. Force on Force, Zombie, and maybe Sudan. The first two late night adult drinking games!

More Tau & Cherry Picking update III

There is no why more. Just more.

6 fusion heads

3 Devilfish

3 Crisis suits, the last Ripetide, the last not a Ripetide

Cherry Picking update III

Earlier this last year I bought another Tau army. The price was cheap enough I could rape the treasure it was by parting it out. I am balls deep for 635 after shipping. 215 days later I have managed to sell 290.00 dollars.

75 for the Ocra
125 for the Mantra
30 for the Cuda
60 for 6 HammerHeads

With the Tau army I repainted while in Japan. It was ebaying time. I shot the moon, listing it at 700. It is xmas time. Someone has granny xmas money to piss away. After 4ish relishing cycles it sold.  That puts me at 990 total for an army I paid 635 for and cherry picked the best items for me.

The last of the packs were sold 2 Crisis, 2 Broadsides, AX01, and 2 Hammerheads. Additional 205, tops out the deal at 550 profit +/-.

Warmaster Weekend "Hills"

All of these are relics from storage. I am 95% sure this will be the ground cover for a Japanese or Samurai table. Woodland Scenics Fine burnt grass tuff with Brown fine dirt. (1:3 ratio). The rocks a simple otter brown prime, heavy dry brush craft paint tan, light dry brush craft paint white.

The last one is in bad light. Terrible picture. Two different static grasses, dead green and late green with wild tuffs and torn up grass mat. Its a test run. The whole hill will need mounting to MDF. It is way too flexible.

Lastly I had to pack or stage the terrain for Cold Wars. Some bastard blew his back out. And now I got to work. Of course the week before the tourneys, SOB!! 4 Tables worth for Warmaster. 1 Fur grassland, 1 old school forest mat, 1 GW high desert, 1 old school desert mat. Its all villages, fields, rivers, hills.
For the Epic Tourney, the FW table, desert, drop zone, and old school green mat are staged.

Warmaster Weekend "Rehabbing Fields" part II

4 Fields done. There are 5ish more to rehab. 4 of those 5 are packed in a box somewhere.

First two where from the bargain basement sale. Teddy bear fur glue to MDF with hot glue kitty litter walls. The old clump and kitty litter was stripped. Next time I will soak my clump in glue before building the hedges. They took forever to dry.
Sadly the fancy upgrades, trees, make them too tall for their old storage box. I need to come up with a new way to store/transport them.

Next two from Battlefield Terrain Concepts.
The resin was cleaned in the usual fashion. The whole thing primed Home Depot Otter brown. The rocks coated dark german grey, dry brushed stone grey. The dirt part dry brushed brown and tan .99 cent craft paint. The whole thing very lightly dry brushed white. The field parts are grass mats from Scenic Express. The mats are a good deal 12 x 24 and you cut or tear to fit. The Tuffs are left overs (tuff box) from other projects.

The last of the 3 margin basement sale is still WIP. I actually have to go to work.

Crap buildings and fields

These are 3D printed, free stl files. You will see them on eBay printed or cast for sale. I got mine 2 years ago off eBay. They were totally 110% FUBAR. I gave a bunch away, smashed a bunch, and then there was this.

Last time I updated these crap buildings, I said I was done. Once again I am saying no more. They are as good as they are going to get. No more money or time is going into these.

In other terrain news;

Plus one lake

Plus one printed building

Other fields WIP

Final touches on the field with buildings

Field with hedge/wall WIP

Warmaster Ancients "Roman Allies"

2 formations of Latin Allies. Again hand painted shields. Transfers and stickers on 10mm are a total black hole. The painted shields don't look as great as transfers. Yet a 1000 times faster than transfers. And 100% cheaper!
