Holiday Week painting

            One of the three 4 day weeks that happen every year. I am a traveling guy with no local work site. No one wants to pay for 2 days travel for one day's work. So I sit. I have sat since Fall In. This normally happens serval times a year. Not this year. This is the first. I have been gone every week since February. 

            I have been home long enough to restart the Photon printer. My doc wanted an item printed. My old files would print. New ones would not. I had to reteach myself supports. I was not tilting the object correctly and too few supports. It runs finally, 6 days later.

I am out of 25mm, 3mm ply circles. They come 100 to a bag. It was hard to believe there were none left. I searched and searched. None, nothing, no nada. Meaning I have painted 90 plus pirates already?

        These were the two dudes I got at Fall In. This dude had a bunch of pirates from who knows where. He wanted 20 for the box. These were the only two interesting minis in the lot. I offered a 5er for the 2.

        She is a 3D titty girl. A very skinny one. The last few had been all brightly colored. A darker colored depressed religious English bird.

        The vinnies came from Marauder Industries. They are twice as big as the originals. I will keep them for now. There is 3, because my wifi touched my stuff.

        The yellow also came out too dark. It is a question of touch them up or print some in the correct size.

        The Fists are getting the love. Mostly due to a list I want to play and I am short detachments. I fought with and got the Photon up. I have most everything in metal. I want additional characters and sergs on the bases. all of which pitched me down the rabbit hole of 30K goodness.

        Printed Razorbacks and Destroyers. Aussie Tacticals in MKII

        Old school Rhinos and a Hunter. A printed Dorn. As I get a better look at him, his sword and other details did not come out. I will have to print him again. Different angle and exposure, maybe 10% larger.

        Touch ups to the chipped minis and a new Fellblade coming a long.

            All were printed on the FlashForge. They were sprayed matt Black and Stone Gray at a 45 degree down angle.             

        The damaged sections I have not printed yet. I think I would try on the Photon to print them.

Dark Realms "City of Corsairs Watch Tower" part IV

        The jetty this beast sits on is done printing. The painting is done. There is a 28mm Pirate for size.

        I have to finish up the rocks. Due to the length of the print job. I increased the layer height on the jetty. The 4 parts took forever to print. There are visible lines on the rocks. I watered down some wood filler and roughly jammed that shit in there to fill in the lines. 

        Next step will be to go back and sand them down a little. Finally paint the rocks and side walls.

        I need to sort out when I will print the whole causeway out to the jetty. Some planing is needed or I will print just to print.

Buccaneer Bay Warehouse 

        This monster is just as big. Another 28mm Pirate is in there for size. 15 parts in total for the ground floor.

            I said I would be painting this dude for the hobby challenge next year. The second floor was printing until the ender shit itself again. A massive clog, the whole print head was plugged, the nozzle and up the tube. Down for parts!

NetEA Sisters Vs Space Marines 3000pts

 

        We was gona play at 6 feet. Then the wifi got involved. Kal was nice enough to host. 

        I went with a tactical heavy list. I took the points from the Warlord off the Fall In list and dropped the speeders. Two more tacticals with 2 HB Razorbacks and a pair of Thunderbolts added. A set of LC Razorbacks were added to the BTS. The dualing Dev dropped the razorbacks and picked up LRs.

            This is right before I screwed up. I thought it was a good idea to engage with my Devs. When they could have shot. 6 dice Vs 14. 

            Got to remember the Devs are not there to engage. Those Devs are there to bounding in support of the tacticals.

            I caught the 2 sets of 2 detachments intermingled. Kal was set to pounce. I just got there first. The 1st set ended up broke, I survived. The 2nd set we both ended up Broke. 

            In the end I got Blitz, T&H   Vs   Blitz.

       Rules Question; I found it during Fall In. Then could not find it for our game. Also didn't remember jack. Trenches, are they DANGEROUS for vehicles? Why yes, yes they are. In the DKoK and Seige masters it says the same. Don't know why its not in the Imperial Fists also?

Dark Realms Buccaneer Bay House

         Everything printed on the Flashforge in 2 days. It took about a 3rd of a roll of filament. Maybe almost a half but not a half? 

        The flashforge is a beast. The best printer I have ever had. I wish the bed was bigger! It prints wicked fast with excellent quality. The only issue I ever had was created by me. I printed through a roll and tried to restart it by force feeding it. Had I done it properly, it would never have happened.

        It was sitting in the way primed up. I had shaking hands this morning so no mini painting. Why not bang out some terrain.

        The inside was primed otter brown. The outside my new brick color. After that craft paint dry brush.

        The worst part is picking out all the exposed timbers. That took longer than everything else combined.

            The Warehouse continues to printing way. I am on the ground floor still. Which is my fault. I should have sent everything the Flashforge could take to it. 

        The foot print is going to be massive. This is a 3rd of the ground floor. I am 2 rolls into printing. Including one crap part coming out of the Ender.
