Epic Armageddon City Table part XI

The tiles are down. And board base coated. ****two tiles are missing.*****

         The rock faces and cracks were stained. Then the entire outcrop was dry brushed white, heavy washed with testers black wash. As soon as it was covered, a paper towel was used to lift it off.

         Those dam skulls. I know someone thought they were a great idea. Yet everyone tries to fill them in or cover them up. As a broken ground, rough/dangerous terrain idea, it sucks. A sunken road or sunken stream would have been so much better.
           I do not want a pond, swamp, puddle in the middle of my tile!

          Mine are filled in with railroad ballast. Primed, pure white glue, fine ballast, watered down white glue, ballast again, and watered down white glue again.

My ballast of choice mixed in with some kitty liter, stuffed into an old spice container.

 Looks like crap while your doing it. Still 1000 times better than skulls.

These are the first six realm of battle tiles. There are 3 more waiting for FW roads, after Fall In.

The realm of battle story;
         Over the years I have bought and sold maybe 5 realm of battle boards. 2 were commissions for a local club in Boston. Another I sold because I thought at the time they sucked and I was selling the two I had off. Then I bought one for 150 and was back to two with 3 extra tiles. I got a game room in the old house. Built an 8 by 6 table and had the idea I should have tiles enough to cover it.  I ended up with 14 battle tiles.

         The project went cold. It has been long dead. The last update was 14 Oct 2014. Almost 3 years ago.

The idea stolen from some dude who did this for a GamesDay 15ish years ago

Well.............. I said it would happen, as it has happen to others!

The wife has the same look, when I start talking about a city table.

Who knows how much I originally sank into this project. As the boxes jumped out of storage "label city table." I had to keep saying who bought all this shit? What the hell is in these boxes?

         The first tile up is the Church. It will sit on a hill or raised area. Something like the acropolis in Athens. Again.........Except the hill's purpose has changed. I am saving the other 3 sections of the hill for later.

6mm Desert terrain "pipes" part XIV

I started off using wall board paste. I was hoping it would dry unevenly, crack. Then give me some nice busted up, damaged chunks to create sections trashed be conflict.

Well after 3 days that shit is sort of dry. It also sticks to the blue stuff. All the online reviews said nothing stick to the blue stuff. Bullshit!

Next up is amazon sculpting epoxy. It turned out as expected.

I must have damaged the mold when cleaning the wallboard paste out. The mold was effected by the warm water and some detail got lost. Doesn't matter so much as these will be suffering battlefield damage.

Moving Storage.

So there I was minding my own business. 

Uhaul send me 35 miles in the opposite direction to get a truck I ordered over a month ago. Delayed us by 2 hours. Then the help cries when they see the wall of storage. Its a 10x10x10 (really a 9x8.5x10), 1000SqFt.

We load the truck in an hour and a half. The artwork and tournament arms ride in the car for safety. Well sort of. Dad flipped them and place them upside down. (I am lazy 90% are not magnetized) Artwork made it.

26 footer through NJ. I have never been in the right hand lane on 287 south. WTF? Lanes come and go. Two lane on ramps, right lane becomes exit only. 

This thing sucks gas as if there was a hole in the tank. Plus it will not go faster than 75.

New storage is a 10x10. Gate key doesn't work. I have an 8 number code, should be 9. Got the area manage on the phone as we were after hours. She gave me the special code, 6 numbers. Opened the door and just by looking at it you can tell it is small and not square. The size is porked.  It is 10 sneakers by 8 sneakers and only 8 feet high. All the shit does not fit! Today I will go and scream at the storage people. Then call Peg, the manager and work a Trump deal.

And finally fix the broken, not chipped, tourney armies that got flipped.

6mm Desert terrain part XIII "O Sammy special"

Ebay specials plus a O'sammy house from Gamescraft.

The eBay special is all one piece. Gamescraft's O sammy house comes in 4 parts. 

          Originally I was going to use all this shit for my Desert terrain project. Then I started to put it together and paint it. The building, construction style is different. Which made me want to represent the construction difference with climate difference.

         With O'sammy house located, in not "Desert terrain." And having done so much with the Iraq and Sudan theme, I had to ask mates for some photos of green Afghan hills. Not exactly Pakistan, but it will do. I selected the one that fit my mind's eye of the area.

Afghanistan

         Variance; This part of the project will be green-er. I will be sticking with palm trees. Why because I have a shit ton of them and screw buy more trees. Also the sat pic of O sammy's compound show it out in the fields, the town is off the pointy end of the compound. My town will be closer by half the distance. Sammy's compound will sit higher than the rest.

Pakistan

5mm MDF board is used as a backing material. 3.58 from Home Depot for 2x2. The terrain pieces used were warping on me and one of the ebay ones even cracked. So they are now mounted to MDF. Correction the MDF is too thick. I will switch to a plywood base.

 This dude was primed grey. Then angle sprayed white a brown, followed by a tan. The houses were dry brushed with a cream, followed by a white. Two weathering powders were applied, both are secret weapon's shit powders. I have just started picking out the exposed brick work with "Hull Red."

More Gamescraft buildings. They were painted up last year. They will be the little building off the road from the pointy end of the compound.
