Legions Imperialis Game rules and CAF

More and more continues to come out about how Legions will work. It is 2nd Edition Epic with inches. CAF is back, hidden orders, and the turn sequence.

If I was going to looking/interested in Legions and I were a veteran Epic player, one that lived through all editions, WHY would I not stick with Epic Gold? The Primarch dude and the community at Epic Gold went through the rules and lists. The rules are clearified, cleaned up, FAQed and the lists have been balanced, updated.
The WHY, would be it is not 30K. True. Remember as a veteran Epic player I know of and or have looked at Imperius Dominatus. The Primarch dude, Peter, took Net Armageddon and Net Gold, replaced the D6 with a D10 to develop a 30K Epic. Again the community, proofed, and tested the system. 4 updates are out correcting mistakes.

In Legions armies are back to being structured with cards. Or blocks of command elements. Those elements can be upgraded. The heavy tank is 2 for 150 with each additional tank costing 60.
Now the discount for fielding a large block Vs the same firepower in 2 activations has been continued. Example; you get one warhound for 275 or two for 500. The discount in combining the activations into one is 50 points. In legions it is 60 points.

I always liked this idea. In Space Marine we had cards with the stats on them. Those cards are back. In the leak GW noted a deck of unit cards are available. Nothing about if they are included in the box set or you get to buy them.

CAF

I remember CAF from back in the day. It is the biggest reason why I don't like Epic Gold. CAF is the circus called assault or engage. THE BAD,  it takes forever. Every stand get paired off, add modifiers, a roll off is done. The winner stays, loser tot he foam. If you out number you get extra dice. THE GOOD, engagements when completed result is one side wiped out.
In Armageddon; You roll and I roll, no difference. Hits get allocated, you save and I save, and then we add modifiers and roll off. Winner take blast marker, loser get over kills and broken.
The 2nd edition part of pairing off is what takes hours. Especial if your mate does not know his army or have the cards and looks up each CAF every time!
