Its about that time. The registration will open soon. I asked the kid if she wanted to go? Of course she said yes. What army do you want to play? Ok look at all of them and pick one! The purple one, Eldar.
And she want the titans. All titans, all the time. The Fir Iolarion titan list. Its a rough list, 4 activations. One Warlock, One Phantom, two twins. We played a short board, 2 turn game just to see if she liked it. Turn two she was down to two activations.
The Titans faced an old Tau list, Stealth Suits, of 13 activations. The Tau took a beating. An activation gone, a unit broken. It didn't matter, even helping her chose targets/threats.
On to test two. Same format. Something quick that we can stop and make changes to and restart. This run through is with the Alaitoc. She still wants Titans, twins. They were fast enough, hit and run, and poured dice down. Same Tau list. If one of these works out for her, then she can play all the other armies in the case. She did much better placing objectives and understanding why. This time she pushed the Tau to turn 4. At which point the Tau couldn't keep up. I was helping with target priority and getting her to break units.
