HistoriCon 2021 'Day 1'

 

        I always come the 1st night. Never much of anything is happening. Long ago when dad was alive. We would help out a couple of the dealers set up and then all go to dinner. Afterwards sit around the HOST bar for a few drinks. The Tavern is closed here?

        Now dad is gone. I am the only one left from the old crew, no more battle barn, and there is only one vendor left. And Rick is getting old. It is sad to see time marching on so fast.

        HMGS was all set and ready to go. You could get your badge on the casino side or on the opposite side by the Grand Ballroom. I got mine at the Grand Ballroom one. I had to wait for only one dude. That was because he stood there sorting his shit instead of moving along. The scanner read the code emailed to me. All my pre reg games printed out. The board was set up for picking Thursday's games. No line there. I have 3 games for tomorrow.

        Nothing happens anymore on the first night. There were a few pick up games between friends. I went over and helped Rick set up.

        Dinner was Sushi at Wegmans. It is not the best but it is cheap. 16 pieces of sushi and 2 rolls 24 bucks.
