Epic at 6 Feet Under Epic gaming

6 Feet Under moved. The new location is straight down 30 from my house. Its roughly 50 minutes to get there. All depending on 30. I do take 741 around the backside of the outlets. So I miss most the shit show.

1st game was my Traitor Guard Vs Kal's Emperor's Children. I went with a bunch of Armored Fist platoon. Those were backed up by the Titans. The Company HQ and Tank Company ran together up the center. I won 2 - 0. T&H & Blitz

Kal had a drop and Orbital pie plate for me.

I knew I would take fight abuse in the list. They failed Kal all game. Only laying a BM here and there.

I advanced slowly up the board keeping everything tight and supporting.

The one terrible mistake. I get too hungry and gave up a Warhound. The Warhound take take up 2 activations and sucked detachments his way. Still I was down activations to start and giving one away was stupid.

The drop came down in a bad place or situation. I had no BM, Inspiring, and outnumbered them 2 to 1. So it shot and I eat it.

Game 2

Eldar is floats and jet bikes does not match up to a punch you in the nuts BAs. I was lucky enough to take the upgraded armor. Otherwise the game would have ended sooner. I broke him shooting turn one. I did not have the staying power for 3 turns. Then it all went side ways. Lost 2-0. DTF & TSNP.

The Road Heavy Rotation part I

People and their vacations. People buying systems. All equals my sweet ass locked up until September. 5-7 weeks in Cali for the punch to the junk. 4 weeks at On. This will suck. But I do have time to prepare. The holiday weekend was a family time thing. I got some priming in before the weekend disapppeared.

Short week after the 4th has me in the Courtyard. The lighting sucks but its 2k a night and double points so......
I got a new guy with me. Not much got done while baby sitting.

Legions Imperialis updates pt II

New Wolf titans. The originals were resin. We all know how great FW is at pouring resin. There is also the lovely part where their kits never ever line up. Oh and the parts were always warped and or twisted. Then there was getting whatever they used as a release agent off the resin.

All solved. These are plastic kits. GW's lastest AI kits were easy.

I am not and never was a fan of AT. I have all the titans in metal. The chinaforge ones. I never saw the need to go plastic. These I would do. I like the look of them the most.
From down under a screen shot? Leaked or made up. The prices are in AUS and not dollars, but dam. Ever with the AUS at 61 cents of a dollar. These would be 40-50 a piece. I will throw a flag. 3 super heavies and 6 predators and 2 spartans are all the same price. The numbers are not what I would expect for a detachment of each.
If the prices are true or close to true. This will be one very expensive game. I would think the small add ons will be 10 to 20 bucks, about half the price shown.

The big problem is any one can be printed for 3-4 cents. All the stls are available and free right now. A printer and liter of resin would be two of these!

Legions Imperialis More updates

More news. Some Tom guy wrote or designed Legions. He was quoted saying Alternating Activation, Hidden order counters, Detachments, more flexible detachments, turn by turn objectives and 9 other things that were of no help.
Sounds like 2nd with a splash of 1st, Armageddon and Apocalypse. I am most concerned that the flexible detachments will transform the game from a company command element to a platoon command element.
Detachments are abstract and vague for a reason. The fine details of a unit TOA get lost at company element level. It doesn't really change the role or effectiveness of a company detachment if one fire team has a weapon platform he found that is not normally with his unit.

Turn by turn objectives. VPs counted at the end of every turn. We have seen that too before. I understand what the point is. It will all depend on how the game actually works to weather its a good idea or not.
It is used in two scenarios for Warmaster. Sometimes its great other times good luck. I got luck and plant my lizards on one and watch them stack VPs while my opponent sent unit after unit to the foam. It was a shit game for him and no challenge for me.

Looks like the first go around on mini size was a bust. Minis are 8 to 10mm tall

A bad extra blurred picture of starter contents.

                    * Whippy stick are RED. Red stick were always in inches. GW will change Epic to inches? I am ok with measuring movement. I think GW again missed an opportunity to end ranges. All the big weapons would have effective ranges greater than the table. A 6mm 1/300th scale Abrams tank could shoot from home plate to the pitchers mound. Small arms are already taken care of with the FF value.

*D6s, they missed the boat. ID uses D10s and its a great way to give weapons a different application.

All the old AT kits are being released. An all new ruins kit is coming too. There are weapons which can damage buildings. We had that way back in 1st and 2nd edition.

And I bought another collection

It is a massive Eldar collection set up for Net Epic gold. I am in at 566.25. I should be able to cherry pick and double my money within 6 months. I took it because of the forumware and large number of titans. All bare metal or plastic. It is coming in 2 large flat rate boxes.

Now I have a fully painted big ass Eldar army. I bought it that way long ago when the wife was following me to touneys and game days. I figured if her ass was tagging along, she would play. Then not be breaking my nuts or me feeling the guilt of her ass sitting around for 14 hours.

Whatever that army is 99% fully kitted. I was always sort of looking for this or that with little interest. Then my WP mate came along selling.

Update for the last collection, SM & IG.

I sold the last IG company. I now sit at 612 total, with an all in at 270. Ebay fees were most likely 100.

Update for the Chaos collection;

It is all gone. I cherry picked, gave a bunch away within the group and broke even.

Legions Imperalis New Epic Version 5

Here we go. August 2023 Legions Imperalis will be released. AT or AI scale, 8ish mm. This will be what the 5th version. Its not 40K no other races. This is Horus Heresy. Hot marine on marine action.

The last one was 20 plus years ago, Armageddon. GW abandoned the Epic players within 6ish years, discontinuing the Armageddon support. Specialist Games went away. 40K was the future!

As with any system discontinued, players vanish and hardcore players only last for so long. This never occurred with Epic. I started playing when I was 11-12. And now I am dam near 50. Communities popped up. UK tourney scene never went away. The greater Boston group held numbers and monthly gaming ever since. The Aussies had a group.

In reality GW's ability to supply miniatures never mattered. There were so many set bought and left in the box, you could get new models 18 years later. The FW buildings were available for years. Only since about 2017 did they become increasingly rare to non-existent.

The loss of a minis created a golden age. There was Ben. He tried to buy Epic from GW, made copies of GW minis, and had some of the 1st 3D printed minis. Next came the age of Otterware. His stuff was amazing! Otter was C&Ded. The Aussies had China forge or fight club. 30K stuff beyond belief. They got C&Ded. The was a German guy who screwed you more than your wife would. He got banned serval times.  Others have popped up.

Then printers became cheap as chips. My 1st printer was 3k. My last resin printer was 100 bucks. the files were hard to find. You would trade or buy them. Now they are everywhere. One dude count 567 30K files available for free. You can print anything GW ever came up with.

The new big box set. Its one Space Marine army with support or 1 Marine army and 1 human army. I don't know. 2 tactical squads, 1 assault squad, some termies, some dreads (the only option that looks like a complete detachment), some armor.
All other editions came as a complete game. One side vs the other. Now its a box of a half assed army?
I believe its 40K or 30K platoon level skirmish. Where a stand of 5 is a dude in 30k. Epic was always big formation moving against each other to deny area or control ground. Nothing in the box set leads me to think this is a company or division level game. From the contents of the box. It is one company taking an objective.

Someone on FB quickly did sizing for all of us. I don't remember your handle, still credit to you! The new minis are 7ish mm with power pack. Termies are 8mm. (The termies look like shit. GW should have printed from our files)

I do not know what Legions will look like. I have not seen the rules or any game play. Net Epic Armageddon is solid, rules and lists. 30k for Armageddon is pretty good. Net Epic Gold has been around forever. Its solid. Imperious Dominatus is pretty good. Aussie 30k is pretty good.
Legions has to be fucking speculator! It has to convert the veteran players. It has to prevent new Legion players from going to any of the others. Legions has to take over an established tourney scene.

GW is a miniatures company

Is it about making money?   Hell Yes
Are players going to get new minis?   Yes
Will they fail to produce enough?   YES
Will new players join the older Epic Communities?   Yes
Will GW fuck up the rules?    Yes
Will GW drop Legions like they did AI?     Yes
Will GW fuck up the support like AT?     Yes

In the end welcome to Epic. You will go broke. You will collect more minis than ever before. Weather you stick with Legions or join the existing players and tourney scene, you will play this game for your entire life!

Anno Domini 1666 Swords of Light and Darkness Unboxing

It came. USPS failed to deliver. Out on the road, painting and working hard. I came home to find that the USPS tried so very very hard to deliver. Now I got to go find the main office to get it. You know between 3:21 and 3:23 on Tuesdays when it is raining. The worst part is we know the Postman.

I was a little disappointed. I thought the box would be bigger. The whole ride home I wondered if something was missing. Did I get cheated? It was heavy. Was it heavy enough for everything to be there?

I missed the 1st edition. Then never found it on eBay for nothing. When the 2nd Edition Kickstarted, I gobbled up everything. Not all the army packs. I had a few of them already. Those I had were used in B&P gaming.

I don't know who the extra minis are?
