Little Wars 2023 Day 1

 

        East Coast HMGS has some lessons to learn!

        Great venue. Easy to get to. Rooms were available on points. Suites were available with a chit. There is no food available in walking distance. 

        HGMS staff was set up. All badging was easy. Hotel staff had my room ready. I did get cheated out of my suite upgrade. They credited the chit back. There were carts lined up at the door for unloading. The gaming hall has a carpeted floor. so nice to stand on.

        What a smoke pit. Very nice.

        Bar with food was open. The mexican dude was slow and swamped.King of Prussia's was not open and it is a bloodly casino. 

        There is a TV with the games like flights in an airport. There is a board with games available. Every table has a standing dude telling you this is your table. No game list in the event book. 

Games

        More games were being run on opening night than at the East coast Cons.  Just not small little 6 player events. 26 player games, massive games!

These 2 were the coolest tables

 

    Epic demo was my 18:00 game. I had a father and son? from SD. Eastern SD. The dad was very cool. A professor of security. The son was a normal 12 year old. They both had fun and were interested in downloading the rules. The dad talked about printing off an army. 

    Big giant balls running a game opening night 21:00 to 01:00. I never plan on being smashed, but hell at 9. And my head was killing me. I had a full table and took walk ons. All good players. They picked it up in the 1st turn. We played to 12. Everyone was spent.
