Back out on the Road PART IV

 

        Marriott Springhills today. Its regular points plus 2k a night. I will get an extra bonus from a 0300 fire alarm. Which was especially lovely. I never left the room. I sniffed the air and put a pillow over my head. They have a nice big desk area with a ok light.

        I forgot my wet palette. I don't remember ever taking it out of the bag. I don't normally unpack that bag. I don't think I left it at the last place. Pri has my Prosche. Maybe it is in the Porsche for some how?

        With an All Stop, Drop Anchor event underway little to nothing has been done. My only time to paint is on the road. I had a few, EIC Black Scorpion and Spanish 1666 that I hoped to finish in the my room with proper light and such. It is not going to happen. Without the room, there is no chance to prep minis for travel. 

        No palette. I am down to washes and glazes. I won't paint straight from the pot. Even to base coat something. The paint is way too thick.

        I won't strip the AWI from Little Wars. They will get touched up and highlighted. 

        Well maybe this dude will need a stripping.

     Last week was to be a short trip. A Courtyard with 3K a night bonus, no promo, and 100% more points. I took next to nothing with me. After landing the customer abused the visit. We had training and repairs to a tool we were there to upgrade software.

 

All STOP, Drop Anchor Again part II

 

        Dog hates this dude. Hates his van. Barks like a killer. He shakes and cries like a sissy. He won't go down stairs. When he did he cried for me to come to him. Then tried to pull me away. He sniffed at the van. But when the dude came to say hi. His tail went up against his balls, shaking and ran to the cama.

        When the dude is gone. He will come down stairs. He sniffs at the dog and peeks inside. He won't go in.

Work has started. The studs are up and half the outlets wired.

Day 2 Insulation and wall board is up. New door and lock.

Day 5 Its done. Now I need to be home to move all my shit back in and set up the printers.

    Three rounds at 3,000 points with a break for lunch around noon for an hour. Afterwards we'll try our luck at one of Manchester's many restaurants. Coach thinks he can beat my Olive Garden 2022 soup eating record. I think he's all talk.

Net Epic Armageddon Eldar Vs Tau 3000pts

         Finally got with Will for a game. I drive real close past his place on the way to many a job site. That whole time On Site, On Call I would go by every 3-4 days late in the night. It just never worked out. Five finger Feddie, Morgan the pirate, took a piss. 

        Will hosted. His wife came home from work and cooked for us. His dogs are awesome! He threw me a beaten. It all started off great. I KIA 1, broke two units and stayed mostly whole turn 1. Turn two the war god ate my ghostkeels. A cobra moved up and the silver spears broke the BTS riptides. I bombed the silver dudes and broke them. Activations are tied. The twins titan jack the other riptides. 

        Eldar are as unit specific as the Tau. They are as faille as the Tau. The Eldar triple retain killed me. I would be up or down one in activations. Next go, I am trying to pull a rabbit out.

Little Wars Day 4

        No one showed for my demo. Which was good. I was extra fuzzy from the night before. 3 sticks in one day and 4 different whiskeys made my head pound. Sunday is a busted day just like every other HMGS Con. I help the vendors load up and then beat it.

 

        We had dinner with a local Custer dealer. He was showing a West Point tourist type book from 1870s? Which is cool and all until you got to the back. Whoever was the original owner went around and collected signatures from Officers and Generals. Those that signed were mostly from ACW and indian wars. There were gentlemen from the Spanish American War also. Custer's best man was in there and the JAG from the Reno court! 

    We put in 4.5hrs and stayed across in Ohio. Tomorrow we will be home by 2:30-3.
