30k Horus Heresy World Eaters "Thunder Hawk Transporter"

Long ago, long ago I got me a bunch of FW THawk dudes. Never knew what I would do with them. My BAs, DAs, and IFs have THawks. I didn't want to replace the existing lead and could not choice who would get the upgrade. The World Eaters have all limited and custom minis. This is where they need to go.
The World Eaters also have custom bases for everything. My Thawk should have one too. Out of the city terrain box are copies of the FW roads. Two of the flatter more square-ish section were pull. The bottom sanded for a thickness match. Then sanded for true square.
Then they were mounted onto 3mm plastic card. All lips, holes, filled. Then sanded again.
Next I tried to plan out where the unloaded vehicles would go plus troops securing the landing site. All epic dudes stand on a round circle. I needed to counter sink holes for their circles. A bit was matched up to circle size and over sized by 0.01. The red tape marks where I needed the drill press to stop.
After the holes were punched. One bunker and the sand bag wall got the dremel treatment. Sand, grit, and crushed clay were added.

The base was primed and initially washed in the normal method. Dudes and dead dudes selected to fill the holes. A printed destroyed Rhino added. Everyone went to the paint sticks.
I may return later and do something about that damaged Rhino.

30k Horus Heresy World Eaters "army pic"

I took them all out of the cases to plot a path forward to completion. Whats missing, what needs more, what doesn't need more. As I was sorting my crap out why not an army picture. I have been chipping away at the project forever.

Current WIP; 2 THawks, 2 Brass scorpions, more termies, 5 more dreads, 3 more spartans, Assault marines with jump packs, storm bird (if I can find one),

The army as it currently stands.

30K Horus Heresy World Eater Armor part III

Two weeks ago I was traveling. The bulk was completed while I was on the road. All have been sitting waiting. The past week was a shit show. No time for painting. No sealing as it was a rainy crap week. No Warmaster Weekend. I have 3 Samurai units that need like 2 hrs of attention. A travel wedding killed that. Yes I was smoking a stick during the ceremony. It took so long to herd the sheep and get the bride down the row. I was about done when the father started off.

Today....Today I got sealing and highlighting time in. Whole bunch of World Eaters this time.

6 Land Raiders, 2 special gunned Predators, 2 Rhinos
 4 more Termie stands
 2 more Dreads
 Assault Marines without jump packs
 Command stand, 2 support stands
 5 more daemon stands

Games Craft 6mm Walls

As soon as these were available, I ordered 3ish sets. There is a little bit of flash around the bottom or base of the wall sections. Other than that they are perfect casts.
All were primed black, 65 degree angle sprayed light gray or otter brown, followed by either whiter desert yellow near 90 degree spray.

The yellow spray was washed red/brown mix.
The white spray dry brushed stone.

.................And then they sat for months. I touched them up. Picked out a detail or two. Maybe farther down the road I will revisit them.

30K Horus Heresy "Armor II"

3 land Raiders and 2 Predators got slipped once the humidity dropped. The Pred's bases did not and the LRs are missing the doors. I will have to cast up a butt load.

30K Horus Heresy "Jet Bikes"

It is raining. I have free time and it is raining. No mini sealing happening. I am stuck with a ton to seal. Only the Jet bikes made it before the rain.
When compared to the first group of bikes. These are lighter for some reason?

Warmaster Weekend "Samurai Cavalry" part I

I think like everyone else, painting horse is a dreaded task. I hate painting horses. I have guides, and color charts, and PDFs on how to. Is is one of those things I will put off or will kill a project. The truth is they are easy. Very step by step intensive, but easy.

The green mat is out. Yep I was painting at work again. I did zero for a week covering for another engineer on vacation. Like I said horses are easy. I finished blocking them in on Monday. While working in parallel with some archers.
I did so little this week at work, I painted my case empty. Just about every stick is empty. Dudes based up, awaiting a wash or sealing. There will be days just or cleaning, preparing, and priming to restock the sticks.

Yes my Samurai Cav are based length wise. Bite me nerds! Read a book, multiple books, maybe even attend a lecture. The searching of the internet to cheery pick articles to back your sweet candy ass is no different than cherry picking the Bible to justify that last kill sanctioned or not.
With all those empty sticks a butt load got done. VV got deposited at camp. The inlays are out bound Tuesday. I should be able to finish this lot up before the wedding Friday/Saturday. And yes I will be burning a stick or too, dancing with granny, and getting proper plowed.
