Flying around just to Fly around

Well this week was a fine kettle of fish. Out to CO for a source replacement. Only to find out everyone has to be registered with the state. So that shit ain't happening. A Marriott Courtyard with double points plus 5k a stay. I had a nice room with a wargaming table! No time to paint.

Out the very next day to help the dudes in AZ. Except that customer didn't pay the last time. So no service this time. Credit Hold!

Another Marriott Courtyard, same deal.  I didn't get a wargaming table in my room. But I did get to paint. All Anno Domini 1666 minis. Blocking in colors on the plague doc, and spanish troops.

Then it was out the next day back home. 6 planes business class except for one leg. Only to be 267 miles short of the next level. Enough miles for free 1st class for the wifi's birthday.

It is time to award yet another flying cock. If you happen to be a parent of a baby or young kid, stay the out of 1st and comfort plus. No that pays extra to be more comfortable wants to hear your kid. Nor watch your monster run rampet. Get off the phone be a parent.

But that alone won't win you the flying cock award. You need to achieve this guy's level.

Step one; board early with your under 6 month baby. Babies don't board with those needing extra time. you board after comfort plus.
Step two; Bring the shit machine to 1st class. As you fish thru the bag that you boarded early to stow, drop the kid. Kick save! The baby lands on the back of a seat sliding down to be botted back into the seat.

Step three; fail to depressurize the kids head going up and coming down.

Step four; You got it to stop crying until you bounce its head off the ceiling making the baby fly.

Black Scorpin "Skeletons pirates"

Hanging around in meeting and phone support, and power point training. Perfect time to finish that which never gets done.

I was home a few weeks ago. I needed to get back to painting 28s at home. I wanted to start something easy, Skeletons. I started and they sat. I put in a couple of hours during Teams meetings.

3 frairs that have been traveling with me for some time now. How long I can't say. They needed about 30 minutes of love. I had the time.

Epic scatter terrain that was also traveling with me forever.

Arab Desert Beach Port part I

Pirate action was never limited to the Caribbean. The North African pirates were a never ending problem for Christian Europe. The pirates had multiple little out post throughout Africa. The Slaver ports, and native African ports.

The man in the Iron Mask has a chapter or two in Africa. El Capitan is in Africa also.
I got this whole double section for 50 bucks. It is not 28mm scale. More like 32mm. It will work. I started by cleaning it and spraying the whole thing Desert yellow. The separate wooden parts were sprayed brown. Both rattle cans are from Lowes.
The wooden docks were dry brushed "Real Wood" followed by "Iraq Sand." I pulled all the docks done in the past and matched them up. A few have an Otter Brown prime base. They are darker.

The large water front 3 sections are done. After visiting the sun coast of Spain. I now know the Arab structures were earth in color with no painted designs. Red brick/earth as in Magala.
The cloth was just sprayed. Maybe I will go back and paint a pattern. For now I don't care so much.

The last two pieces need a few hours worth detail pick out and washes.

Regimental Fire and Fury rebasing part V

That is it for this year. I am out of Infantry bases. I had thought more were ordered. I must have never completed the order. Either way I am done for now. I have probably 200 more bases to do. The entire Iron Bridge was set a side during this rebasing round.
41 Inf bases and 4 Dismounted Cav. No idea why they look so shiny. I went back and hit them with a testers dull coast.

This group needs sealing and flocking. I don't know if I will finish them before the New Year.

Anno Domini 1666 at Sea?

It is time for my 5th Atlantic crossing. A trans-Atlantic out of Rome for 14 days to FL. With 8 days at sea. The girls have never been at sea for more than 2 days. It won't be warm like the Caribbean. I expect them to get board. I am bring Anno Domini 1666 for the kid and me to play. This is not a Disney cruise. There will be few if any kids aboard. I have two other card/rummy family type games for everyone.

The girls have never seen Rome or Europe. Their 1st time in the Med. We will stop in 2 places dad was when he was stationed in the Med. Mom has never been to Italy or Spain. She is excited to see Rota, Spain where dad was.

The fun will start when we are crossing. They are possibly the worst sailors. I have sea sickness pills, patches, bands. The Atlantic can be rough. My daughter gets sea sick easy. The wifi is so, so. Mom, I can't say. Yet they all say their sea legs are strong. Ah hahahaha.

Mom had a hard time with the rough seas. We only had 2 days of semi rough seas and one night of high seas. We were in bed for that. The wifi and me never got sick. The kid was always some form of sick.

We played one game. The kid found a friend on board. A boyfriend and they hung out. I was off entertaining duty. We played family games and card games but they don't count.

1st game VV’s musketeers lead by Kitty Softpaws took my Red Guard 7 - 6. One Red Guard killed out right with a head shot. I took down two Musketeers but Kitty cut down the Cardinal.

We forgot about armor! We played without parries for half the game.

Holland America ship condition "Birthday Cruise"

Two years ago I went on Holland America with my Aunt. Our birthdays are days apart. Last year we went to the Army/ Navy game. This year I went with the Family and my mother. The idea came when I was out west. I have crossed the Atlantic 5 times. Always under water. I wanted the do a crossing. DCL is my first choice. They were 6K plus for just me. Holland was 6K for the 4 of us including air and hotels. And all we can drink! We also had 3 days in Rome kicking about.

I am not a fan of HAL. I 1st went with them because it was my Aunt's line of choice. I complained home the whole time on how shit the service, food, and shows were. HAL goes places most don't. But they suck. One would have thought I learned the 1st time.

We were on the Nieuw Statendam for 14 days. It had just left the yard a month or ago. The physical condition of the ship is terrible! For a ship fresh out of the yards it should be looking good. All things in working order.

Easy simple things were wrong. Gun wales not draining. Bent broken rails, trim, rigging. Rust!

All of this should have been handled in the yards. Doesn't stop with the yards. The crew is lazy. They have no pride in the ship. The Chiefs' mess needs a proper kicking. You would see this sort of bullshit everywhere. This example was here for 5 days before it was taken care of!
HAL is not a total loss. The smoking pit is great. BB Kings' band is spectacular. HAL has a new once a cruise party called "Orange Night."
