Tabletop World "Stone Bridge" part II

The stone work is the same old, same old recipe. Otter brown spray, dry brush tan, light dry brush white. The rest took a heavier dry brushing of white.

The plaster was worked up from GW Tau orange.

The guard houses got the timbers done in chocolate brown. The house timbers are next. Then all will be weathered together.
All the roof shingles had otter brown base, dry brush white. Then speed paint brown, GW oil wash with a dry brush of AP stone grey. The roof sheeting was hit with chocolate brown.

10mm plastic Samurai

A new source for Warmaster Nippon armies. I bought everything Castle Arts had left when he announced closing. There were enough for Warmaster. But if I ever wanted to expand into Sengoku period I would have a tough time.

10mm Samurai are the easiest of all scales to paint for this period. You can identify with old man eyes what is what. And you not spending a lifetime painting the ropes that held the armor together. 10mm for Sengoku also allows for maneuver on a 6 x 4 table.

Atlantic Wargames' Grand Scale miniatures are out with plastic 10mm Samurai. Since Castle Arts closed up. There has a vacuum when sourcing Samurai at 10mm. 300 some odd Ashigaru and 190 some odd Samurai in separate boxes for 35 bucks.

Traveling and painting in 2024 part VIII

Good week on the Road. I am babysitting a site over the weekend. The normal onsite crew is very good. Everything is in perfect working order with good customer relations. At the Crowne Plaza, double points plus 3k a night. This Crowne has a great on site bar. The desk lighting sucks, but the light from the window is good.

Falcata Miniatures from Spain. These are the Colonial local forces. The minis need arms glued on. The mold lines are heavy for modern castings. I got most the arms on and all the foot based.

Anno Domini. I got the Spaniard common troops done. The city watch and character getting blocked in.

I repaired the FW transport and completed building two of the new Thawks. GW most think the more parts the better the kit. What a pain in the ass to assemble.

            A few buildings for Warmaster.

28mm Arabic Slaver quarters.

I was home board. The girls were in and out. Just enough free time to kick off the printers. An Arabic Slaver building.

Just got away with this one. It was quoted at 339grams. I had a 500 spoil on.

Flashforge was ready to go. No issues after sitting for months. It is the best print I have ever had. The Flashforge works like you expect a completed product to work. And it is faster with better prints. All it needs is a massive bed.

While all that was going on. I printed the stockade fence.
Then some floating pieces parts for B&P's Port Royal.

Custer Project part II

The first and second layers are down on the jackets and shirts. The rifle has been replaced on the guy behind the horse.
The jackets and shirts are done. The flag guy's repairs are complete. The skin has been completed. The horse's legs have been repainted. First seal is down.

I hate the way this dude looks. I pulled him off. The head is porked. Too big. He maybe the only thing I don't get done in time.
I ordered up some eBay 1/32 plastics. Hopefully they will be closer in scale.

Anno Domini 1666 Dogs and next up

When I changed my load out for traveling. Anno was bumped out of rotation. The Sallies' armor has been pulled. Anno Domini is back in

These two had had following me around. They got some pets in Cali. Their heads look wicked shiny in the picture. It is just the camera.

30k Epic Salamanders 2024 part V

I have 3 new THawks for the army. One in pretty much assembled. The other two are still in boxes.

30K Epic is a dead horse. It is cool to have the minis. You have a better chance of seeing Jesus than ever getting a game. All those 30K specialty squads are not used in 40k.
Based on this reflection, I will finish the army as playable for NetEA. I will need to change my load out for travel. I am packed full of minis that will never see the table.
Then shelf or sell off the 30K armor. The Primarch and specialty units will be done for the coolness factor.

            This past month's efforts.
