Blood and Plunder 1st game

 

            Its not her first wargame. She went to AdeptiCon and got a few games in. We played Epic a bunch at home before we left. I had never intended to teach Epic or for Epic to be her first game. That is not what happened. She got Epic and Warmaster. Warmaster is easy and easy to teach. She could care less about it. Yet Warmaster was were her dice were hot. She took 1st, but doesn't really like it. 

            I wanted something with girls and something she was interested in. We have been to St Augustine and done all the pirate stuff. She crawled all over the fort. There is pirate night on the cruise. Mom goes nuts. We are fully kitted. 

         So I chose Blood and Plunder. It is an easy game. Cards for units, alternating activations, your always engaged, and low model count. And there are girl pirate minis. And there are famous female pirates.

            This is the first game. Its the kid and me. An event that happen more often than not. Pirates needed vituals to keep up the chase, She is taking the girls out for water,,,, powder and coin if any is to be had. I have a Spanish Militia kicking about trying to grab pirates raiding the coast. 

        I need to learn what the pictures on the status dice mean.

        The funnel of death is the worst part. I came by later and advanced her pirates onto the beach. 

        Lanceros may get in or get gunned down

    I dont have the correct Indio minis here. Mine in the list are armed with bows.

On the Road part II

 

        I am back to where I was last week. Old boy could not get shit working. A light bulb was out and a switch was in the off position. It took 5 minutes to sort it. And then the suck started. He is out for this and tomorrow he is out for that. Mofo!

        I am not doing jack, but painting in the Office. There is a second desk in the office for visiting engineers. I am here so often throughout the year. I leave a light and cup with brushes. 

        Back on the sticks. Mostly blocking in colors in a speed painting fashion. Then once home I will pop them off. They will get placed on corks and finished off. I have a unit that is close to being done. The light is not great and my eyes are bugging out today. So they sit.

        As I packed up to paint in the hotel tonight. I had a runner. He tried to escape, jumped the foam. He almost got stepped on. He almost got left behind.

        The guy that was a runner suffered some damage. Otherwise all the Lanceros would be done.

        Two ilove-craft Treasure Island minis. His scale is all over the place. It ranges from 35 to 38mm on the minis. The terrain goes up to 65mm. I have printed them 3 times trying to get the scale at 28mm. These two are short, 26mm. I was not about to reprint them again. They can just be short.

****I sold a butt load on eBay last week. All the AdeptiCon stuff is gone. There is only a few 10mm and Arena Rex left cycling thru.

Blood and Plunder Spanish Militia/Milicia part II

            One is B&P the other is from the unknown command pack. All are still being painted in the Tercios style.

            All B&P minis next. 

            I went back and stuck these guys down to 25mm/3 mm plywood. They look better on the larger bases. And like I said, I am not interest in ship board combat. Plus I would host the whole game. So I can do whatever I want.

         These last two are Black Scorpion's pirates. They are thinner minis, not feed as much.

Blood and Plunder "printed terrain"

 

        Everything is either i-lovecraft or dark realms.

            The flashforge and the Photon are running full steam. Miniatures are on the Photon and the Flashforge is burning terrain. Both are functioning normally without issue.

            The problem I have is with the i-lovecraft Treasure Island stls. Not a bloodly one is the same scale. None are 28mm scale. I got the miniatures sorted out. They are 35mm, 80% brings them to 28mm. The church will get a bunch of minis for the kids to paint. The terrain is scaled at 60mm, 28mm, 35mm. I have sent a message to i-lovecraft asking what is what. So.......   

        That is 28mm? 35mm? 60mm? WTF!!!

        Then this shit happened. The printer will auto restart where the break happened. Still the rest of the roll is jacked. The filament is all jacked up. I have unrolled it as far as I can. I am going to have to try and transfer it. It is not really worth it price/weight, but what I can print from whats left is.

        More stuff scaled down to 80% and printed

        These are the big guy that I was measuring. Scaled down to 40%. I think 45% would be proper, but they will work fine as objectives.

        Not lovecraft, Not printed by me. Matt A's mate printed them. I got them while at Fall In.

On the Road part I

        I am back in rotation. Maybe or at least this week I am on the road. Now it looks like the customer is out of rotation. No idea where I will be next week. As always I took my road kit along. My flying kit is twice as big. The company pays, so it travels in its own suitcase.

            The bottom or red foam never changes. The paints I use the most have doubles that live here. Nothing blows more than forgetting a paint.

            It is not fully packed. I just got back from AdeptiCon Sunday. Monday I was off by noon. There was little time to prep minis. I grabbed what I had. Always bring more than you need. 

            This job turned into a shit show. I am out of stuff to paint. Because of the shit show, I painted in the office at work also. 

            Lucky me the hotel with a good light to paint under was available. Normally I am force to move everything around just to get enough light. I move all the light in a Marroit room to the desk. 
 

Warmaster "Sold"

             So I was at AdeptiCon. Every year the Toledo guys are there. If you have been you know who they are. It is one of the reason you show up Wednesday early. Most of their stuff is shit. But you can find golden nuggets if your willing to dig. 

            This year it was specially mostly shit. All the old rare stuff has been picked over and rarer still. I found 2 armies. A complete painted Empire and a half complete Lizardmen. The Empire was on hold for someone. The Lizardmen I got for 208. Today I sold them for 400. I only tossed in the odd command elements I didn't use.
