            This is so much more funny when I am sitting in Logan postin about how it tastes. Back up on it. The atlantic sammies have every minis' issue, spear breakage. If you are a celler dweller, I don't see an issue. If you plan on playin with the kids, wife, and con apes, you wont have a spear left.

            I doubled my base thickness. Hopefully any mate will pick them by the base. You can see where I repaired those I smashed.

            Also as you detach them from the sprue expect to lose 4 spears a frame.

            In the Warlord book there are Ashigaru in White and Red. Well I had to do some as they were striking in photos.

        As a contrast painter hater. I did use ink and contrast to under lay the minis. After which all foundry paints. A 3 base unit style takes a day!

        None of the banners are done yet. I need to sort that. 

        

        Also I switched from 4-6 mm grass tuffs to 1-2 mm tuffs.

Sammy Time

 

            All the reference photos show the walls stark white. And those that face the most viewed areas of the castle in Japan are stark white. As you walk around, they are stained about a quarter of the way up. I only bring this up because I believe and painted them stark ass cracker white. Now I will stain them all.

More Samurai Atlantic prep-ed for painting.

            All are double based. The Atlantic plastic bases are used. But to save the flags and spears I double based samurai with magnet warmaster bases.

            So the spears break pretty easily. They did reattach ok. No idea how long they will last. Also I rushed them to basing. I should have based the rear rank. Then started flocking before setting in the front rank.

20mm "The Ranch" Wraith part I

 

    

                I have been listening to the Legacy series for the past few months while driving. I have butt tons of modern minis and terrain. I could easily do scenes from the books. The Ranch personnel wore Desert BDUs. I have multiple squads done in both chocolate chip and coffee stain BDUs. They rode in technicals and Hummers. I got those too. I have locals and armed citizens from the Zombie game. 

                Fill in a few missing specific units with little work all those minis can kit out a new-ish game.

                Wraith from Costa Rico Squad 1. Wraith never had dogs or AI gun platforms. They were just there on the paint table in need of love.

            I will do all the Costa Rico vehicles like this Sheriff one. I have 3 resin cast ones that were pre production tests. I have had them for years. They are roughed up. Because of their condition, I never did anything with them. 

            Now they are Wraith's. When Wraith arrived at the Ranch they were in rough shape. The 4 months of combat and the drive to the ranch will be well represented by the shity casts.

            I need to step up my game. Modern games are looking awesome recently. Roughly the same scenarios but very well put together.

            I saw this business. Really simple set up that looks amazing and extremely playable. All on a conference table length wise. Everyone can reach everything. No one is knocking things about to get minis from here to there.

            I have everything to copy the design. I do not have a large apartment block. Something I will need to think of with Israel teaching the FaFo rule of thumb.

                I raided the books stores of Japan. Can I read Japanese? No I cannot. I do have work mates that can. And the is google translate. I never translate the whole thing just parts and titles. The majority of the volumes are for references for painting.

                I read the top two before I left Japan They are in English of course. Otherwise I would be looking at pictures.

            I was watching the Red Dawn 20mm kickstarter. I missed it. In the process I started think about 20mm Moderns again. Listening to the Ranch Legacy series isn't helping.

Japan traveling and painting part V

             This one is said to house 1 of the 3 relics of Japanese Emperor.

            Last hotel room, Kimpton on Points. A real size room with a real bed. My feet were not hanging off the end. 18th floor over Shikuku. No painting was done. I did have to buy 2 suitcase to get everything home.

Skymiles Tokyo is awesome. Great food and full bar. I was only upgrade on the last flight. Comf+ Tokyo to DTW. The flight from DTW to Harrisburg took 13 hours. Delays man, delays.
