Traveling and painting in 2025 part VI

 

            Up in the Crown Plaza. Double points plus *k every 4th night. Nice desk lamp, but the room is dark as a cave.

                So this week went straight to the shit. We were doing routine maintenance. My junior FSE was cleaning inside and said dude this stain won't come off. I told the cleaning stuff from their hand and looked inside. "Fuck" Back away and call ERT. That is HF. What did you touch it with. Hold that hand away from you and do not touch any other part of you.

                HF acid doesn't eat you like alien blood. It passes right through and rots your bones out. You would feel it and never know it. One or two days later you wake up with pain and a hand that looks like frost bite. Then its chopping off time.

                When you make the top two highest levels for delta rewards, you got cash back. You have to have the delta Amex. I used my credit to buy the village. I will get it painted this year. In 28mm, the only quest is where will I store it.

                Staybridge double points plus 3k a night, and 8k every 4 nights. This was a shit show. from 9:30 to 3am a little kid would randomly start yelling. Some adult female was video calling in the hallway at 12:30. I get yelled at for telling people to shut the fuck up. The front desk guy refuse to toss them. There was no other room for me to move to. One day I will go to jail for tossing a bitch down the steps.

                Back to the Crowne, same bat time, same bat channel.

            

            I don't know what the Courtyard thinks you are going to do with this desk or lamp. Its a TV stand. There is a floor lamp I always move over. I pull the little desk in front of the window.

            Court yard is double points plus 2k a night.

            Back in a Crown, points times 2, 8k every 4 nights.

Sallies get a fresh ride

 

                After NEEAT, way after, I laid down the snake skin stickers on two chessex cases. Back in the day we used leaves for this. In modern times fancy ass sticker things and 4 rattle cans. Dark green, light green, cream, and burnt yellow.

                All the foam is glued in place.

                Dudes in Chessex cases can travel the world. Plane, train, bus, and boat... no one ever gets broken.

North East Epic Armageddon Tournament

 

                The XXVIII annual Epic tourney was held in the usual spot The Portal in Mansfield, CT. There was 18 players and we were missing the NYC crew and only one NJ guy showed. 1 from ME. 3 from PA came up. They suffered a terrible drive once across the Hudson. I was lucky and working in Albany. My drive was a short easy 2hrs Friday at noon.

    

            Coach's Steel legion took top spot. Mars and Dark Eldar were 2nd or 3rd.

                I had submitted two list. With no work up games, I couldn't decide what to field. I did not have a nailed down schedule prior to the event. I sent in Tau. As I can play them with little study and a Sallie list.

            Dave selected Salamanders for me. No worries, sort of. Sallies are challenging due to the lack of range. My Friday warm up game was against Frank. Frank borrow Dave's IG. Frank played with 3 or 4 detachments of super heavies. It was a lesson in what not to do and what could not be done.

            Being the Dick that I am I made everyone play corners. I had a plan. Where there Blitz went determined where my 2 objectives in their half went.

            In the tourney my first game was against Tim. Grudge match, we played at last year's tourney. The blue was used in this game. He had IG. I did much better, but still lost 3-0 BTS, Blitz, DTF. 

            Next was a game of bad things. I had Chris and his Grey Knight. No part of the plan was used as everything dropped.  3 teleported on my left flank. I lost the initiative roll. Chris failed to activate. I ate two of them nicely. He landed a Thawk and with a retain sent 2 detachments to the foam. The other 2 Thawks and friends came down. We both got bloodly. Those friends took off in Thawks. Everyone rallied at the end of turn 2. I won initiative finished the left flank. Chris landed all but smashed the right flank. A lone busted rhino was engaged by a Thawk. The rhino dished out box car after box car won the engagement. Then the space craft came last activation, hit nothing ad drop podded the Blitz and T&H. Sallies 2-0. Chris's BTS got away with a single stand. 

            Third game was with NJ Darius. Darius had Squats with him. The pink was used in this game. I held a Tactical for drop, garrisoned one group of termies and teleported the other. I had T&H in turn one and the gate was swinging home. It took 4 detachments to wall off Darius. All where busted and down to one or two stands. The last Tactical and Dev ran a blocking action in turn 3. Sallies with TSNP and T&H. 2-0

Termies bounced in every game but the last.

Muskets & Tomahawks Hessians part II

 

                I don't want to say it took a long time. They took forever, forever to get done. Everyone was rebased. The AK euro mud pasta crap was use enough. The tuff and snow are enough to make you go blind.

                The guns are touched up and based. They need mud and Tuffs and snow.

                I had to paint two Command Characters. The Jaeger Officer needs his jacket touched up. I dropped him. Then tuffs.

Muskets and Tomahawks Indians

 

            A mix of manufacturers. Some have been with me for a while. 4 others I primed up last week.

            I had a senior moment. I was sealing. On the second pass I grabbed the black primer instead of clear matte. 2 got hit before I pulled up. One soaked and other took a head shot. I cleaned up the one who got it the worst. The other I was too slow. The paint job started to lift off.

        I had original thought only two got it. Once I started basing with my glasses on, they all got hit.

                Leaves go down with white glue. The leaves had little point of contact. The layering juice make sure the leaves don't transfer to somewhere else.

Traveling and painting in 2025 part V

 

            I read Wars of the Samurai on the way out to Boston. Delta 1st class and the Waltham Courtyard with 2k a night. Storms in Tampa delayed my connection. I got in at 3am. Look at this desk light?

        After a 3 plane change at one airport. 1st bad light, 2nd bad circuit, the 3rd we sat around awaiting the luggage to come from the other 3 planes and then we needed gas. But I was upgraded to 1st for 3 of the legs, comft+ for the other one. 

        Holiday Inn full service, double points plus 4k for each stay. What a desk lamp! There were no other lamps or lights in the room. This is the best lamp of the year.

             I have the colonial roof sections and Greeks and American Indians, and Port Royal dudes. One day of sitting around waiting for shit to happen. The last day was another one, but we were sitting awaiting the customer to move a part across the site. It showed up at 16:30.

    

            Boise had a hobby town. Mostly RC cars and Japanese robots, but a whole row of AK products.

           Same bat time, same bat place. I flew out wicked early. Upgrade to 1st class for both legs. I get 5k a night this time and made platinum this trip on delta. Diamond is far away. With 7 months to go I should get it.

            Such a short trip resulted in me only painting up some leather on english sea dogs.

            1.) Someone needs to put in a rule. No babies in first class. No one wants to sit next to one or be near one paying this much to fly. 

            2.) If your too fat for the 1st class seat, it is time to review some life choices. Which does not start with 6 bags of chips, 2 Mcdonald's sandwiches, fries, and pouring whiskey into your milkshake.

            3.) If your so dam short you cannot see over the top of the seats, a bag will never get its way up into the overhead. Check your shit!

            4.) If you need to expand your roll aboard bag, you must check it.

            5.) If you have more than one bag, someone should hit you in the head with a hammer. Are you a sherpa? Check you dam bag mate.

            Delta One is pretty dope. Amazing service. The seats are harder than the original 1st seats, but I never got sore ass.

            Same hotel again, double points + 5k a night + 8k every 4 nights. I have now stayed in order room 427, 425, and this week 423. The desk fuckers are funny.
