Tabletop World "Stone Bridge" part IV

 

            A massive project that was intimidating to start. I would like to say I had a plan. If there was ever one. The plan never lasted between painting days. The stone work and plaster were experiments. Those I tackled when I knew there were at least 2 back to back days. The roof and metal work I painted twice. As the results were shit. 

            The randomness in the stone and the wood took the longest. It did not take as long as I thought. A total of 2 months on and off again efforts while home. Maybe 9 full days. 2 days were cleaning. I cannot say how long it took to do the wood.

        Very happy with the way the plaster came out. I walked it up from a base orange. The orange gave the plaster a warmer look.

            These are the cottages. I got them way back when I lived in NY. Over 10 years ago, so much shame. The original plan was to use them for M&T. Now they can pull double duty and cover Anno Domini too.

            Primed Otter brown. I think they will go on the road, if I am driving.

Port Royal "pre production samples"

 

                A little disappointed. I know a whole custom table was built for demos. I would have thought the demo table would be out for demos. With the pre production there to see and touch. Demos were given on the pre production with the demo table MIA.

            The card stock in kit building look good. Maybe 4x thicker than the GW card you got long ago. I will go with 3D printed stuff. 

Traveling and painting in 2024 part IX

 

            No painting 1st week out. An in and out trip to Intel for site training. The flight out took two days. Delta and a Staybridge for 3k a night. 

            Delta and the Courtyard with 2k bonus. I have not been staying at Marriotts all year. Last year's status is all I have. I am 5k away from Delta's Diamond status. Only Anno Domini is with me. 

            The light here is terrible. It is not even functional. What exactly was this light ever meant to do?

            I had to leave that customer for another down the road. They tried their best to destroy a system. Now I am back to the same Courtyard. This time with my travel light. Which I carried all the way here and back. I landed, fixed it, and flew out.

            Delta One out and comfort back. And I am just short of diamond status. At the Staybridge down the street from Intel.  IHG is double points for status, pus 5k a day, plus 2k for every 2 nights. The staybridge has a good desk and an ok light. I moved the lamp over for more light.

            We have 5 on site guys here. One is new and training. And still they need help. With all the guys here. I am grilling and going to the gym. Jack all else is getting done. The dude that originally trained me back in 2000 is here too. So its all scotch and bullshitting.

Legions Imperialis Mechanicum minis

 

            New Mars guys. I have a Mars army kicking around. I bought it painted, gold. Then started to repaint it, red. I tried to get more minis from ChinaForge, but something broke. Legions has a new box coming out. I may have to grab some of the robots to kit out the dudes I got.

        All the woodwork and windows are done.

        The metal and exposed stone washed and weathered.

        I forced some of the work and got messy. I need to go back to touch up some of the stone blocks.

Muskets and Tomhawks AWI Collection

 

                An AWI collection came up for sale. I grabbed 100 minis and artillery for 250 painted. All line infantry. It would take me 2 dedicated months to paint up line INF. I don't see that happening. Some will need a few hours of clean up and rebase the lot. Easy enough.

HMGS' Fall In 2024 Event Registration is Open

 

Event Registration is Open!

After a lot of work, events registration will be opening at 9AM on Saturday, September 14. Events must be entered by midnight September 30, 2024.          Please read the documentation about entering your events, which will be posted on the Tabletop Events page and the Fall In! website.         If you have any questions, please contact the Fall In! events manager.         Everything is going well with the transition to Tabletop Events. We are looking forward to utilizing this new system for Fall In!         Saturday is the NetEA tourney. 3000 points, 3 rounds. Any army not in the NetEA tourney pack contact Kal.  Build your army here          I won't have time for practice games. Or at least that is what my travel schedule looks like now. I will need something I can play with much practice or study. My bouncing marines are rock hard. The deployment and supporting movement are key.
