Traveling and painting in 2024 part IV

 

            All this month it has been crazy. 3 trips, each time, it will be easy. You will be done in 4 hours. Twice out to Denver. I did not bother to bring my stuff. 4 hours right? No all week and back the next week.The normal points and air travel. 

            The week after Denver. I took my paint kit. I don't know why! No worries this one is easy. You will be watch another engineer. Well his ass left. Then I had engineers traveling stopping by and customers with me every night. In the end, I snapped the arm off the robot.

    

            This week is a debriefed shit show up front. Customer is pissed. 15 year old tool that is one of a kind and the factory needs it to run. And it is a cancer patient. The onsite engineers have been pouring whatever parts are left into it. The tool will work for 24hrs to 4 days and take a piss.

            I am bring the kit. Onsite guys are 12hrs a day. I am a baby sitter and shit talker. Staybridge is 2k every two nights, 3 bonus a night, and double points. I got the suite with a bar. The bar has the best lighting for any hotel room. Sallie character stands, rhinos and transfers.

            Then two weeks at the Springhills. No good Holiday Inn at this site. No points bonus. Week 1 your tool is dead. Please buy a new one. Week two a shredded turbo. Blades every where in the vacuum chamber. All resulted in meetings. Teams is the death of smart people. I painted thru most of the meetings.

            Ever since you left, Forge World quickly discovered that they had no other talent. Forge World has never found any talent the likes of yours. They struggle to this day just to get out of their own way.

All STOP Drop Anchor..........Game Room Again? part II

 

            It has been a month. After the downstairs, the Wifi remodeled the main bath. Once again everything went into my space. The sink leaked and the ceiling dropped in her new down stairs.

            No wargames yet. I have 2 play dates scheduled. In the few days I was home since it all started. 9 games of darts with locals and family. The first time the dart machine was used since COVID. After family dinner it is cards. Before Pri and Tia were smashing us every time. Same cards, new table, mom and me are undefeated down stairs. VV smoked me head to head.

            I only had to move the cigars 4 times. Never lost humidity control. I did have to toss out my fathers leaves. He got a bunch of leaves when I was a kid. They had to be 35 years old. During the move I thought I saw mold on them. Out they went. 

            The table got cleaned and organized.

I am not 100% squared away yet. Hopefully over the Holiday weekend I can finish.

The spray booth fan was upgraded. The new main bath got a new light and fan. I took the old fan. It sucks harder than the one I had been using. Of course vents straight outside.

Spanish History from Spain

        After the 3 body series. I got the book. The book is a 1000 time better than the series. The book has the female scientist and the cop. There series breaks down the main female character into 4 different ones. Power ranger bullshit. One is gay, one is black, one is chinesse, one a pothead, another a failure, another social warrior and they all have high school relationships. 

        I wonder if that is because the industry is jamming ideas into and onto you? The more you hear and see the more reality shifts. It is a KGB theory on how to change society.

         Or they loved the story, but had a fear 90% of viewers are too fucking stupid to understand the concepts that create the backdrop to the concepts explored? A series with a heavy physics language, and advanced astro physics concepts would have the multitude turning off in the first 6 minutes.  

        The book was good enough for me to finish it flying. I ordered the second half way through.

            This one I pre-ordered. I had forgotten all about it. There it was waiting for me when I got home. I smoked through the first 4 chapters. Its very good. There is a social justice introduction. It is well defended point. Spanish Ancient history has been left high dry. Over looked and out researched by Roman and Greek. The English, French, and German historical publishing industry is established. The Spanish does not exist. These being the reasons for the lack of publications. 

            I saw this first hand in Argentina. The Spanish don't have book shelves. No book stores outside of grade school ed. They could not believe I owned and bought some many books with me. They always saw me reading. I rarely or never saw them reading anything! They did have an interest and expressed the desire to read what I had. But the language barrier and their lack of availability shot them down.

            After the defining statements in the intro the book gets into the Spanish, tactics, weapons, and warrior culture right away. The social justice is gone. It is a true scholarly work. Hopefully one of many that will come out of Spain translated.

Traveling and painting in 2024 part IV

 

            No Nada. The house is torn up. First it was the downstairs and now it is the main bath. Everything get stored in my room. I have spent more time with Delta than any customer. I made the next level in two weeks.

            Delta out to AZ. My flight was booked last minute on Solar Monday. Ticket prices for the right side of the plane, insanity. My 1st class ticket was 600 less than a right side back of the bus window seat.

            Holiday Inn has 2k for 2 nights. Plus I get double points and 3k a night. Marroit has jack all for bonus. At the bar again painting. This was a good painting trip for me. I got all those infantry bases done and dudes mounted to them.

                Terrible trip for work. 3800 in travel costs to show up to a robot damaged in transit. The robot's arm looked like it was crushed in the jaws of life. I sat around for a day doing nothing but painting. 

                 Then a midnight rush back to the East Coast. Another robot, same style down. The Engineer fixed it while I was flying. The other tool they cannot bring back to life. So I get 24 hours to sleep and get to work the weekend.

                Another Staybridge. Same deal for points. And back again.

Panic in AZ. 

            Same place, hotel, deal with a new robot. I got a crap room. No bar! A desk with no light.

                    TSA popped my bag. First time in a long time they want to look at my toys. As soon as I saw the ticket, PANIC. What if they didn't put the foam in correctly? What if a dude stuck to the bottom and goes AWAL? Sweet baby Jesus the Salamanders with me are 30K Aussie. I cannot replace them. All I got is what I got. 

                I torn into the case throwing cloths every where. Someone was nice to me! All good. 

    

                I was done within the day. The motion test ran over night. So I leave to fly out. Fastest trip home had me sit in the airport for hours. I never thought about the AZ daily temperature. It was 100 plus that day. PANIC, again. My minis are in a black bag, baking somewhere! The whole flight I cannot stop think about them melting.

                Land in ATL, my bag is still in AZ. If they didn't melt while I sat, they are mush now. I am going to have a heart attack. If they melted??????

                I get redirected to Dallas. Hit BWI turn around and fly out in 3 hours. No bag! This is another fly in, so sorry tools dead, fly out. I grab the Staybridge by 19:00 by DFW. In the hopes my bag will catch me. I am smoked and my feet have been in boots for 2 days with the same socks. My minis could be lost for days trying to catch me. Bloodly melted! 

                Tool saved with some Harry Potter Afghan magic. I leave the customer site and the bag is waiting for me. I opened it in the hotel lobby. Sooooo lucky! No one is AWAL. No one melted!

        Nice island with good lighting. I am smoked. No dinner, no painting, straight to bed. Up at 3am to fly home.

            Now, going forward with minis that are not available or replaceable, they will travel in my carry on. Paints will still ride under.

            Home for a day and back out. Denver is next. Then maybe a week off and back to AZ.
