Road to AdeptiCon part II

Next week there is only Monday and Tuesday. I am in the middle of packing up. What the hell is that? Something motor like is running. The sump pump for the french drain is running non stop. It is also buried behind two Book shelves in the corner.
At least I am home for this. Who know how long it was running, dead headed. If the wifi or VV were the only ones home. I would have had to call a plumber. The girls would have touched my stuff, my books. They know I will snap their fingers off for book touching. One writes in books the other destroys dust jackets like it is her job.

Of course it is in the corner. The bookshelves hid the pipe. I had never thought about how long the pump had been in there. We bought the house 4-5 years ago. And there goes my packing day. I tried to keep the books in order, stacked in rows on the gaming table.
There is two pump in there. One looks like it has been in the ocean. The other is brand new looking. The brand new looking one is not hooked up? I never checked it. The house inspector dude never saw it. There it sat connected to the pipe. Never connected to power. I tore that fucker out and put in a check valve.
The one from the ocean is the root cause of the failure. As it rusted to pieces. Those pieces are what jammed the float. I tore that fucker out too. I could not just let the old one go on. If it failed while I was on the road it would be a grand for someone to fix it. I fished all the nasty out of the bottom. 375 later a new pump is in, tested. One pump!

There is another pump opposite corner of the house. I will have to replace that dude this summer. No idea what shape it is in or how long it has been in there.

Actual Packing

When traveling without the whole army. I have to lay the army out to the list. I have missed or forgot whole units in the past. It would suck to drag a loaner army along and the army not be complete.

Two Traitor guard army lists are coming. One to test out armor fist abuse. The other manticores as artillery support abuse. The units themselves are not abusive. It is the combination with Garrisoning Malcadors.
I am short the double earthshaker tank. Subs will fill in.
The Sallies will be my tourney army of choice. I have 4 units I needed to finish. 2 termies and 2 drop pods. I need to borrow a Thawk from the DA army. Its green, just wrong green.

Last Minute

I was good to go. Then missing things, armies not complete. Another coat of sealing ploy going down.
            Bases for Termies.
Sallie will only borrow a Thawk.

        All packed

Traveling and painting in 2024 part III

No room for me at the Crown. I am at Staybridge for now. Roughly same deal, bonus 3k a night and double points. The desk is a more crowded work area here. I chose the bar area to paint at. The one in the room not down stairs.

I have Sallies with me and 2 28mm dudes. I need a leader dude for Saga.

Right back at the Staybridge. Same deal. Last time I lost my watch. The orange Casio. I have never lost one in all these years. I don't know if it broke or I took it off. There went 260. The new one is a triple sensor. It is crazy light.
Then I did have any 60mm circle bases. Ah no problem there is a game store by the customer site. Dude. GW is getting 6 bucks for 3 plastic bases. MoFo!!! I should have printed a set. I hate buying shit on the road.
There were the Sallies I have been chipping away at and two dudes for a command stand for Saga. That was about all that got done.

Road to AdeptiCon part I

I had a leveling problem. As the table sat upon a rug. The weight of the table began to compress the rug. Due to most the stored weight being towards the front of the table the center joint was higher at the playing surface. I did not realize this. The level issue tricked me into creating one section of the FW table to be raised in surface height.
I fixed the board issue without ripping everything up. The table level issue was fixed. I jacked the table up and place capital equipment steel pads under each foot. The table is level now.

Building packed. I thought it would fill more boxes. I had to go back to Staples and return unused ones.

First thing packed is my event badge. Forget that and good luck chuck!

Cigars, Dice, glue, measuring sticks, rule books

3 armies are coming. Traitor Guard for pick up test games. The Sallies I think will be the tourney army. The BAs will be a loaner.

I am bring 2 armies. Chicago Matt said he would need a loaner. I will play Lizards and loan out the Bones.

Saga Age of Hannibal/Alexander part III

Another 2 groups of 8. All only needed shields, transfers and basing.

7 more with yellow shields. Same as above. Little Big man transfers and basing. In the end I will have 16 with white, yellow and red shields.

6 more Red shield dudes. Half have a piggy on them and the other half a lion. I do not know how that happened?

I was short Centurion. This one I had to paint. He was primed black. That shows how long ago I was painting this dudes. Black primer has not been used....well Boston was the last time. Pre 2009! I did not prime white over him. The detail would be lost. A light dry brush of bone worked out. After that maybe 2 hours total.

Brigade Games Plain War - Little Bighorn

At some point early in the year Brigade Games Kickstarted a line of 28mm Little Bighorn miniatures. I got in at the highest level of support. I also selected additional minis. Brigade took their sweet time with the pledge manager. But as soon as you completed it, your minis shipped next day.

There are a number of collectors, old men, that wanted the minis. They did not or did not want to understand kick starter. The risk was too much for them. So I backed it, too on the risk, for them. The minis will be split up, packaged and out the door the week they arrive.

I am not so much interested in gaming the fight. The terrain dominated the battle field. The terrain plays such a large part in the battle. It would be impossible to create a playable surface for the fight. If you ever get to visit the Little Bighorn Battle field, you will notice right away the terrain sucks. This is why I am not interested in war gaming last stand hill. I could be talked into the Valley fight.
