HMGS Cold Wars Short GMs?

 

We're looking forward to seeing many of you at Cold Wars March 9-12. Attendees can look forward to a wide range of miniatures activities and interaction with new and experienced gamers. Since this is our first Cold Wars since 2020, we realize this event may not have been top of mind for everyone when planning ahead. But Cold Wars is a great way to enjoy the hobby and connect with friends. Plus, you can make it more affordable by participating as a volunteer or GM.  The efforts of our GMs and volunteers make our shows great. To that end, we're asking more of you to get involved. GMs: We've been working on the Preliminary Event List (PEL) this week and see that we're a little lower than expected on events. With that in mind, we have kept events submission open. If you were thinking about running a game but haven't committed yet, we have space for you. GMs earn a free badge for running just 16 'game hours' at the show. An explanation of game hours can be found on our website's Game Host Information page. If you need more information about running games at the show, you can contact our events manager with any questions at events@coldwars.org.

        Mars 2 Pro. What a printer! I could reduce a 32mm hero to 6mm. Look at that standard, done with auto supports. Now of course I broke it glueing it on.

Dark Realms Buccaneer Bay "Warehouse" part IV

 

        This beast is crazy big. I have been at the 1st floor for days. It will take another 2 or 3 days of paint time.

        There is just sooo much area to cover. After all this time I have only blocked in and dry brushed it. And the doors. And i forgot a post. And I am sure there is something else I have missed. This is the last time a building of this size is ever done. 

Can't paint all the time.

 

            The book has been sitting around forever. I got when it came out and pushed through the first few chapters. Its ok. A lot of back story. Which I could care less about. The Marine's struggle in ROTC I found entertaining. The rest is just fill. I did finish it watching the kid do homework. Why cause all home work is on a PC now. She cannot stay focused without someone sitting on top of her narrow ass 24/7. Suck but does provide time to read.

        It got Custer in it. Not Custer, the Indians got him. The Anhueser-Busch had Adams create"The Custer Fight." That painting was every where. It hung in 1000s of bars. Dad was a Custer nut from childhood till death. His father my grandfather bought home one of these prints from a bar. Maybe in the 50s? (Have to ask my Aunt. Maybe she remembers.) Now I have it! 

      Anyways the in 46 the original was destroyed in a fire. It has be manys a dream that it wasn't and someone has it. In the book that is the story. Some how the original survived.

            New Pod Cast. Y'all need to listen to the "Iroquois History and Legends." The two dudes speaking are great. They do have that punk music thing going in the beginning, but spectral story telling.

Back out on the Road 1st trip of the year

 

        Great start to the year. I sat for the 1st 14 days, 3rd to 17th. Huge change from last year. Last year I was gone up until vacation. Then non stop till the Friday of HistoriCon. Some how I was home that day. Thank you, Jesus. After that I was on the road till Fall In.

        First trip out, Holiday Inn express. 5k point a night and it is double points all of January. Top tier adds 100% extra on top of that. This Holiday Inn has a great desk light! I had my kit with nothing missing. It was never opened. I the factory all day and we had meetings and dinners every night. 

No painting was done and no cigars smoked.

Force on Force "African government forces"

This is Africa! Anything and Everything happens.

            These bros had been riding in my travel all last year. I went in there fishing for a Model Color "Hull Red" and pulled them. It is long time they got done or got lost. They have been taking up slots for far too long.

            As always something you plan to knock out turns into more.  The green did not come out as expected. I ended up repainting them.

        These poor trees some how lost their bases since the last RF&F game. After drilling out the bases, I had to use green stuff to get them to stand up.
