World Eater Spartan test

Spartans. Primed white, washed black. So small I wanted to be able to pick out the detail. The wash allows to see what I would normally miss under electric lights of winter. They are beautiful. Great detail!
The wash is Army Painter dark tone. I use it a lot of my 28mm ancients. It could just be in my head, but I think it makes it faster to paint if I coat them in this. Normally I skip this step in any below 25mm.
I will be using Foundry's 67A White as a base coat.
The blues are Foundry's  74A as a base.
The treads are Vallejo's Hull Red. All GW paint schemes are cartoonish and primary. Solid bright Blue, Green, yellow, red. When I can, always Hull Red for the treads. It breaks and spicys up the cartoon color.

French Bugs

Holy cow! Bugs in resin. Big deal? Check out the level of detail. These are the finest produce resin I have ever seen. No flash! No bubbles?

Gaming room

Table Construction.

I had like 4 hours without my daughter. Turned Two! I went and got the wood, cut, chopped, screwed and glued. 1/4 inche ply with 1 x 3 support pieces. All the screw holes are counter sunk. The top is smooth.
Initially I grab two sheets of 3/4 ply. It was way too heavy and still would flex under it's own weight. If I was going to have to screw down support beams, why not go lighter, thinner.
One of the 6 by 4 foot section. In the end I will have a 8 x 6 footer. This size will fit the room and handle just about every RF&F scenario. I made the call to be able to break the table down in case we ever relocated.
General Progress

99% of the flooring is down. Pictures are going up on the walls. Even have started to move terrain in from storage. Progress is moving along finally. With any hope the table construction will begin.

While all the initial construction was going on, I order new paint racks. GamesCraft Miniatures had a sale for Veterans day. I took advantage and hooked my self up. I have a ton of paint. (Foundry, Vallejo, GW, P3, GameColor, Army painter, Italia) With the idea of a larger gaming table I would need to maximize space. I would not be able to have a prep table, paint table, basing table. Nor was I doing commissions any more. In fact I will be cutting 17" off one end of my paint table.
Now I just have to ebay the old rotating paint racks.

The Other table? I have been piling this and that on it. I need clean it off, organize, and build shelves to sit under it.

It is almost as if I am trying to supply the Primarch himself. The total so far is crazy. Is it possible I have ordered too much. Nope never!

ahhhhh

Today was my birthday, like any deployment, it is another day. Sad? No.

Nothing special. But so perfect! Is it strange to find comfort in one or two mates only knowing what the day is?

Fuck a cake , ice cream and balloons. I need no presents. It is enough to be thankful. I am blessed to be able to serve. This year more so, to drink single malt and smoke a cigar with the dog. To eat with my little girl and read her a bedtime story.

I do miss my mates and my brothers, the weight of the gear and fit of the uniform. Yet this day was a good day, a very good day.  For all those who stand watch tonight, hold the line, and my friends who stand the eternal watch as I reflect on this day.

Drop Anchor.........Game Room.......

Finally all attention and effort is focused on me! My pimped out game room.

The Mofo-ing paint sprayer blew up on me. Not the actual sprayer but the attachment to do the ceilings. One of the bendable joint is completing porked. Even after taking it apart, cleaning and reassemble, it continued to fail. I stuck that dripping, paint cover bitch back in its packaging and dropped on lowie's return desk. With a giant WTF!
Now I got to do the ceiling by hand. I hate rolling ceilings. I do the ceiling this summer. The smell of paint is killing me now. On a good note electrical is finished and all the walls primed.

The long weekend was a bonus. I sprayed the walls, put up the outlet covers, and started to lay the floor. The foam flooring is hopefully going to allow for all day gaming with no sore feet and knees!

The table plans are drawn up. Recruits to assist lined up. Thanksgiving weekend is the scheduled table build weekend. Hell, we shall see what happens when the meat hits the metal?
