Mold life & dremels

         I am a big Smooth-On fan. It was easier when you could order direct, more selection, less bullshit. Now there is Amazon. It has the common stuff. It is cheaper and no shipping charges and two day delivery. Means not having to keep an extra couple of set kicking around.

          These molds are OO rubber and about 6 years old. They have kicked out about 7-11 casts. Most one parts last forever. The square building should have been a two part mold.

         As time passes, I started mounting the flat masters to Plexi.

         Knowing that your mold will die over time presents a question of keeping the masters, or creating copies and selling the masters, or using the masters along with your casts?

         I keep a near original mint set for masters. Mostly because I never got them when they were available and I will always want more and more.

         Now that the mold are reaching the end of their lives, I am increasing the abuse. No longer do I have access to LN2. I want weird and strange casts coming out of them. I am pouring different casting materials into them, cocking the mold at extreme angles. The cast is smashed and further the abuse with a dremel.

No real plan for what they will look like in the end. Whatever they become. They will have mold made.

Warmaster Weekends Late issue

          Not much. One new stand of archers. Two reworked bone giants.

Bunker 51

This is what was left of the french built bunker 51. My customer wanted it without battle damage and unpainted. Set to 15mm, I think he plays mostly NUTz.

 One heavy chunk of resin. The green is GW liquid green stuff. It works more like a putty if you add a little water. Sands down as smooth as a baby's ass.

 The roof needed extra help, as the resin sand bag thingy was causing it to bow.

 Same with the walls. They needed studs to stop the walls from bowing.

Sudan project Ansar

          Most of the dudes are from ....... They only make 5 poses. It was hard to ensure the same dude would not be too close to another. There are a few HAT Dervish dudes tossed in.

Sudan project Egyptian Army

         The Officers had more uniform personalizations than that our our own generals in the Civil War. I guess they did whatever they wanted to some long as it was some what close to regulation. If they were a regulation or a body to enforce the uniform of the day. 

Which of course one must forgive them as the Sudan is the hottest place I have ever been! 

         The Egyptian infantry is most memorable in the all white with dark blue-ish socks. The majority of my dudes will represent that. One will notice that the flocking has come out a different color. All were done at the same time, with the same shit, and same everything. Can't figure out what caused the reaction.

Fall In failure

Fall In Nov 8th - 11th

Yep thats right straight in the junk. No Fall In. No Warmaster tourney. No Net EA tourney. And of course I pre registered. And of course I had put in vacation time.

         I got Pearl Harbored! Japs don't give a shit. I will be stuck at Yamanashi factory for a month. What could be worse. Not being able to paint. There is no way I bring enough or prep enough to keep me sucking the paint from my brush tips for a month.
