Lost and Found
I packed every bag to move. I have no idea how these two got here. Especially the FW bunker top. This top piece has been missing for years. I remember looking and looking for it. Even when the original terrain piece was rebased, I searched for the top. Scary how it just showed up!
Then there is this shapeways print. It has to be 2 years old. I have not been around shape ways for at least that long.

Amazon
Amazon got me again. Sucked another 25 bucks out of my pocket slicker than a Paris gipsy.
The Indian Mutiny struck at the very heart of the British Empire. If India was lost the whole edifice of British domination across its colonies was in jeopardy. Everything was at stake, Britain’s leading role in the word, its international commerce and the reputation of its armed forces.
Across the globe Britain ruled only through the compliance of the subordinate nations – but if India could throw off the imperialist yolk others might also rebel. The very fate of the Empire hung in the balance.
The situation was considered to be so serious that the British authorities extended the warrant of the newly-created Victoria Cross to include anyone, even civil servants, who performed prodigious acts of valor to save India, and save the Empire.
A total 182 VCs were awarded during the Mutiny, the same number as in the whole of the Second World War, climaxing in one day at Lucknow when twenty-four men displayed extraordinary valor to raise the siege – the most VCs ever won in a single day.
Sounds good huh? Now I just have to wait for my Xmas visit to the states.

Sudan project IX
Theses are some mean looking, no shit taking dudes. Very thankful I never had to stare at these boys running hell bent at my skinny white ass. Then you have those lovely leaf tipped spears.
This has to be my favorite picture of these warriors. Especially the guy on the left. He has the zero fucks given look.
I will be painting the larger blocks of Dervishes in 3 or 4 stand groups. It keeps the process moving. And hopeful I won't get to board painting 48 dudes at once.
The weather has turned nice. Feels just like Pearl. I have been enjoying the sun. My painting slowing way down. These dudes are WIP, blocking in skin tone and spears.

(Sprain to the left knee playing football. Sitting still has been an issue this week. And my ankle looks like a preggo's after taking a spike)

CanCon
Canberra Games Society runs Cancon every year in January. This year it is from 26th to the 29th. The Epic tourney is on Saturday and Sunday. And its in Australia. WTF? Australia?
I would blow a dead goats dick to go. The pictures from last year's event, the armies these dudes have! Go check the pictures, if you don't believe me. I don't have a bucket list, but this event maybe the starting desire.

Sudan project VIII
The next group of British. These men are in the all tan uniforms. Some units were deployed from both India and England in tan. So no need to be unit specific. I could use them as York, Lancaster, South wales, Guards, or post 1885 resupply.
I don't remember who made these minis. Super boring to paint.
Flocking and final highlight here and there. Done!

Fall In being joined by Mechanicon
Before moving and retirement. I say before retirement, I attended every year. But then I moved to Argentina. Cost is much higher to attend now. When I went, I went to very one, every year. ( Fall In, Cold Wars, Historicon) Being a single parent of a small child, this was the best chance I had to bang out as many games as possible. I would play in 3 or 4 a day, from 7am to 1am or later.
Now on 4-6 November Fall In is coming up fast. This year the guys running 40K's Mechanicon are piggy backing on Fall In. Great for HMGS. They will get 100 or so extra event tickets sold. The Lancaster Host is huge and the floor does not break your back standing all day. The food options are healthier.
I have played in the last two Mechanicons. Great events and very well run tourney. Sadly The combining, kind of straight up fucks the Historic player. Why! Well we go and wait for the HMGS conventions to play in time periods not in our collections, scouting rules, testing that next project out before going balls deep into it. Any one of the Mechanicon's tourneys will take up the whole day. Most people would miss out on at least two games.
Personally I am forced to choose between the Epic tourney or a day of historic gaming. It is a tough choice!
I have asked the guy to run it at night or Sunday. This way we would not be forced to give up the best historic games run in the morning and afternoon. If Sunday, tourney burn out would not kill your "Let's play" attitude.
The best thing I noticed was a change to the standard 3000 points. Kal is going with 2500. It is a great idea, tougher choices and faster games.
If you do make that cut and join the Epic gamers, they are the best beer playing group you will find. Bring your A game they are very good players. The terrain is especially good. Details below

Air Brush
I have only owned the thing for a year plus. And the air brush paints also. Big plans for terrain painting in volume and saving money on primer/color primer. As with most purchases it sat around collecting dust.
Then cam retirement and relocation. Living in Argentina has hobby supply related challenges. The biggest supply problem, no one has hobbies. Nothing exists here. Which forced me to amazon the adaptors I needed to connect the brush. (i think i throw them out. when packing to move) Then a forced trusting relationship with the newly reformed package delivery service here.
Now I am good to go. Sort of. I had never used an air brush before. They are easy. 5 minutes of fucking around spraying paper. All white primer on the Dervishes. It is a toss up between skin and cloth being the majority color. I can paint the skin better and faster than any try at white. White for me usually ends up looking like cake icing.

All Waterloo Dervishes. If you do select these dudes for your fuzzier, some wear that skull cap thing. It is hard to pick out, who is and who is not wearing it.
Don't forget Fall In is close. Yes it is still at the Lancaster HOST. The HOST is still sadly falling apart, but the food selections are good. And there are better hotels for sleeping in walking distance.
And the Epic Tourney Mechanicon will be at HMGS' Fall In this year! Of course you will have to register for each separately.Thursday, September 1, 2016
Sudan project VII
Finally finishing the Dervishes. This was finish group I had added the colored squares to. It was easier and took less time than I thought. Using the above and below pictures as reference. The exception being that I gave them red head wrapping.
