Vraks Traitors Vs Emperor's Children 3000pts

 

        This is Vraks version 1.08. I am testing the abuse or assumed abuse of Artillery companies. Manticores specifically. Manticores in a 9 strong company will drop 3 plates, 18BP, 4 extra BM on any formation touched, and every hit is disrupt.
        The Malcadors will garrison. Further testing the unfair pain caused by their forward prepositioning. I have no plans to march the company. I want the company pouring out pain every turn. The Infantry company will garrison to defend the Manticores from teleport/air assault. There is no air cover only hydra flak.

Deployment. Kal has 5 activations off board. Space ship, 2 drops, Talon and Hell Blades. No garrison. I have Malcadors and the Infantry company garrisoned. This is the best case scenario for Vraks, no teleporters. The Manticore are able to hide deep in the flak bubble.

        The Malcadors on the far left flank, garrisoned, dictated Kal's deployment.
        
           EC win initiative. Double retain with Talons and Blades targeting the Disciples and Tank hunters. Then the Manticore artillery company targets the EC back line. The 3 templets hit the tactical marines, the titan, and the Havocs. 

            18 BP with disrupt. Each of detachment gets 5 BM, 4BMs bonus + 1BM for taking fire, right away. Then disrupt lays a BM for each hit with INF getting it on a 3+. The tacticals got 6BM, titan 5BM, and the havocs 7BMs. This broke 2 unactivated detachments and made a third useless. 
            This would be the same with Bombards laying 18BP and IC. The area cover by the blast create an unintended activation advantage situation. Just not as bad as with Manticores with disrupt.

            This kind of thing is why Manticores cannot be an option for the Artillery Company. the EC had one fit detachment on board. It forced the spacecraft to come in before the EC wanted. It hit nothing with its plate and both drops landed in front of detachments on overwatch. One 650 point unit should not determine the whole game 3 activations into the 1st turn. 
            The Artillery Company must only contain bassies with a 0-1 choice. The Artillery Support can be Bombards or Manticores in any combination. 6BP with +1BM and disrupt is more manageable. The area covered by the blast will prevent a gross activation advantage situation from occurring.


            The game was done very early T3. Vraks 2  -  0, T&H and DTF.


Malcadors. 

                    I never marched the Malcadors. This is a 9 activation list with two hitters. You cannot afford the hitters not shooting. T3 when a march was needed to get the Blitz. The 45cm max march of the Malcadors would not have gotten them there.

                    I was out of position twice. Both times the situation was created by the EC's ability to avoid the Malcadors or out maneuver them. The slow move of 15cm, forced a double, and put a negative one to shooting. 

                    Malcadors garrsion and overwatch only dictated the EC deployment. Area denial!
