Regimental Fire and Fury Tom's house

I have known Tom as long as I have been alive. Tom was one of dad's scholarly mates. I would see him at least once a year as I grew up. Then years later at history conferences or lectures. I never knew he played soldiers until 2009. Tom was a Battle Barn member. The Battle Barn ran games for years at HMGS Cons until it imploded in 2015.

Tom's life got in the way. I had not seen him nor had he been able to come to a Con in serval years. We would talk on the phone or thru email. This June I saw him out in WY. Tom said he was going to start playing again and hosting games. Tom's collection is very very nice. He is an excellent painter. His original table was built by his dad in 1976 or something. It was 19 by 7. His new table is modular. Any where from 5 to 19 feet.

Once I heard him say he was returning to hosting games, I asked for a spot. He asked when I was available. I said the day you choose, I will be there. I was going to fly in from Cali and then fly back. Cali dried up and I went home Thursday. Friday I drove out to OH, played Saturday and drove home Sunday.

The Road Heavy Rotation part III

The trip home took 12 hours more. The ground crew guy in San Jose blew the electrical circuit when he plugged the plane into shore power. That was awesome. The whole plane went dark. 3 hours later, they got it started. The plane was wicked hot. I sweated my ass off. Only to land in MSP with my BWI flight long gone.
Delta hooked me up with meals and a hotel. But I had to stand in line for that shit. Ya know, cause if ya don't ask, you get jack all. The new flight was set up before I landed. I got to the hotel at 11:10. The flight out was 5am. 3ish hours down. Then back to the airport for 2 more flights to get back to BWI.

As a Delta share holder, the choice to use all contractors for ground crew and baggage was not the best idea. My hard plastic tool box had the locks torn off. One was hanging, bent to shit. A chip was taken out of the box. The Wifi lost a wheel on her Wednesday trip. I have never had a bag damaged with Delta or even when they were Northwest.

A 4pm flight. Out of the house at noon. Originally my flight out was at 7am. I would have had to leave at 3am. After getting home Saturday at 3:30pm, I got Delta to change for no fee. The new flight was cheaper. A credit held in SkyMiles is never seen by the company. Bonus for me! I land at 9:30pm in Cali.

Back up in the same Holiday Inn. Same deal. Same shit desk lamp. I had time the 2nd night to paint. 3 more got finished and another 4 are on their way. The 3rd night nothing. I am flying out again with an early flight. up at 2:45 for a 5:30am flight out.
Once in Atlanta the shit show started again. The flight to BWI was delayed. Then they loaded us and we sat for 2.5 hours as these retard never did the paper work for something.

Legions Imperialis Road Tiles, Rhinos, Terrain sets

Yep that is new Rhino. Plastic Rhinos will be an upgrade box just like the Dreads and support weapons kit. It has a dozer blade for Mr Kharn!

All the AT city kits are coming back. Even the big combo box. And to be real that is the one you want. It has two of the regular city boxes and one of the spires boxes. The Industrial box is very useful. Then one all new box of ruins and scatter terrain.

I would be in for an industrial and ruin box maybe. I say maybe because......ah someone has already done ruins for your printer! I will print some of these when I get home.

Plastic city tiles in a 6 pack. If you want a 6 x 4 board, 4 packs. That is going to be expensive. I would guess 65 to 99 per pack. The Realms of Battle board was 350? when it came out. No section without roads?

"The Civitas Imperialis City Road Tiles are fully sculpted, finely detailed plastic tiles that will transform a bare table into an immersive urban environment. These 12×12″ squares fit together neatly to build Legions Imperialis battlefields for any game size."

Anno Domini 1666 Cardinal's Men part II

It took long enough to get them finished. Over a month! I paint faster than that. There was a vacation to MT within that time, but still a month? Dam!

Yet another delay was waiting for me. The girls destroyed the mower. I tore it apart and ordered the parts weeks ago. The parts were there waiting for me. I got right up to the end. Then found out 2 parts still have not come, back ordered.
You can see the Epic Traitor Guard piling up in the background. I never got a chance to get at them or finish the bases on the Cardinal's

I kept it pretty close. Mine has armored boots and I made him older. Just like the Cardinal from BBC's season 1 of the Musketeers.

I know the dude on the end does not belong. The mini does look the part.

Then there is this guy. At some point I must of had paint on a finger. I have to go back and rework it or make it look like damaged cloth.

            Lastly a 3D print of a highwayman.

Legions Imperialis updates pt V

Last night a picture of the sprue was released. Multiple part dreads, the body, legs and arms are separate. The armor is also multiple parts. All of which we have seen in past Epic minis. Sentinels were multiple part. The tank used to come the same way. You had to glue the sides on, weapon systems, and hatch covers.

The greatest thing the sprue offers is barrels. How many of your FW resin dudes have lost their barrels? Nice replacements here. I can wait. Spare bits will end up on eBay.

The Road Heavy Rotation part II

2 Weeks in Cali. Delta on the way out, comfort +. Atlanta to San Jose is about 4 hours. I had trouble walking off the plane. My knees were killing me. The next good to go.
All 2 weeks are in the Holiday Inn Express. Its 5K a night with double points. The lighting sucks. The desk lamp is ok. The desk is far from the window and there is no floor lamp in the room.
The 1st week I got nothing done. Another company was onsite. We had to be handlers. I had 3 other minor bullshit jobs in the area. I was never at one place all day. Then we had to take the guy to lunch and dinner every night.
I popped in a kilo heavier the 1st Friday. No beer, running, oatmeal, lifting and swimming all weekend. No dew! Down 1.5 kilo Monday morning. I did get some painting down that weekend.

I have all B&P, but mostly Anno Domini 1666. All the minis traveled in a chessex case. My paints occupied the normal travel kit. I split them up between my clothes and tool box.

The flight home tomorrow is 1st class. I get in at midnight. But then Monday morning I have to come back to Cali. That one is 1st class too. I will be at the same place. Two new people to train. Same hotel.

If I am very lucky I will make HistoriCon Saturday night. If I am very lucky a pick up game of Epic. Otherwise I will miss it.
