Blood and Plunder "printed terrain" part III

More from the i-Lovecraft Treasure Island package. I have justgiven in and scale everything to 80% now. Yea yeah, 28/32 is 87%. Don't care!

All the 1898 minis arrived from Spain. Really fast. They got here Monday after I left. So less than 2 weeks. Normally Spain is a shit show.

These minis are still not here!

Blood and Plunder

My two ship arrived. I also bought hangers from a collection. I wanted the B&P red dice. They are not made any more.

Another dude had purchased a collection. He took what he wanted and sold what he could. The red dice, Unaligned dice and a rule book was left. I got them for 40. I sold the rule book for 20 and the Unaligned dice for 5. Not so bad, 15 for red dice.

Between the pod cast and Jessie's views on Cotton. I had never know Cotton Mather's father was alive during the Salem incident. Any ways all this got me to purchase Witches by Stacy Schiff. Go get it! VV was a shit head Friday. So I made her read my book. That is my excuse for not having it with me this week.

I sold an assload on ebay again. All the Sails of Glory, an Arena Rex, 11 epic card  buildings and some demons.

Warmaster Weekend Demons

We had tried serval times to restart our monthly gaming. I was sick. Then the work screwed me. Then AdeptiCon. Then the Major was sick. It has been a struggle to find a free weekend to do any gaming. Some how this weekend freed up sort of.

I say sort of because 160 rails showed up the same day. While cooking we humped about 40. Me and the wifi finished them on Sunday. 7 high, no cross rails.

The Major took the demons out for a spin. First were the Lizards, followed by the Samurai. The Lizards would not move. Demons crushed them. The Samurai took the field again. The time the demons would not move. The demon left flank never made contact. Samurai with the crushing victory.

On the Road part IV

This week, I am in a Courtyard again. The Holiday Inn is full. The one, one town over is a shit show. All sorts of construction works stay there. There is mud all over, fights in the halls, drunk fuckers screams and crying in the halls, its a fuckin mad house.

My new light is with me.

        Maybe I need another.
I got no dudes done. This job is a slugfest. All I could do was these two terrain pieces. A total of about 30 minutes. A sad weeks effort.

Fall In 4 - 6 November 2022

Fall In! Room Block Opening

Greetings, historical miniatures gamers, game masters, historians, vendors, artists, and others who are members of our great gaming community. I am pleased to announce that Fall-In! is back for 2022.

After a long wait due to COVID-19, HMGS is proud to present Fall-In! 2022, taking place November 4-6, at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center. The theme for this year’s convention is “Vehicles of War: Trains, Tracks and Trucks,” in honor of our recently lost long-time Convention Director Dan Murawski. Here is a link to one of the many tributes to Dan: https://www.hmgs.org/news/594751/Tribute-to-Dan-Murawski-1970-2022.html. He was a true force in HMGS, and he will surely be missed.

We will be back at the renovated (finally) Lancaster Wyndham Resort (The Host) to bring you the gaming, shopping, painting, and social experiences that are integral to our hobby—and we can look forward to hanging out again with fellow gamers in the renovated Lobby Bar.

The Room block will open for reservations starting at 0900 EDT on Wednesday April 20, 2022. We have identified three methods to reserve rooms at the convention rate for the event to give you the greatest flexibility in planning your stay. All of the information you need to make your Fall-In Hotel Reservation can be found at the Fall-In! web page: Fall In!® - Historical Miniatures Gaming Society, Inc. - HMGS and select the Hotel H icon.

You will need to indicate your specific requirements (dates, room type, number of occupants, etc.) and any flexibility you may have regarding room type (e.g., two double beds vs two queen beds). If you are not successful in getting a room at the HMGS rate using one method, try another method. (It is often hard to get a room online due to limited listings on the website). There are other hotels in the local area that attendees are welcome to contact, but HMGS has reserved a room block and secured an HMGS rate only at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort.

As we continue planning your show, we will release further information including submission dates for game masters, information packets for vendors, War College presentation requests, tournament information, and details on many other special events for the convention.

Start making plans now to attend Fall-In 2022 at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort November 4-6. We hope to bring you the best in Historical Miniature Wargaming! Thank you.

Blood and Plunder "printed terrain" part II

The wrecked ship was printed by some one else. Most of it was done with the airbrush. The green sea vegetation didn't turn out so great. I think this was because the ship was printed with a large Zstep. In that way making it porous and the MIG slime went into the layers.
I am not too overly insane about my pirate scatter terrain. There is no plan currently to go back and fix it. If B&P turns into a big thing for me, maybe.

These I printed and primed prior to going on the road. Then all I had to do was weather, flock and seal them on the weekend.

The flat one is the base or sled thing the print lays down prior to starting the actual part. If I am careful I can get it off in one piece. That thing is designed to pop off, but it gets destroyed at times. Still is a free woods base if I'm nice about it.
This was one of the first prints. I was tooling around with the scale. None of i-lovecraft's shit is scaled the same. As a test piece, that was bashed out in a day, lessons were learned.
Then the whole thing was printed at 94%. It is a little over sized. At 94% it is more playable then at 80%. I just have to go back and finish up the wood parts.

Blood and Plunder "Spanish Musketeers" part I

Those guys never had a uniform or if the did it was not as we consider it to be today. They had problems getting kit. They had to supply their kit. The cloth was never the same color even if it was the same color. As kit wore out they sourced it from any where and every where. So the picture about is pretty accurate.
That is not what I am doing or will do. Nor do I intend to represent these men as they were. This is a game for me. Nothing more. I want my dudes to look the part. I want them to look uniform and neat. So I won't be painting them all mis-match. Which is what they should be.
I found this guy. I have no idea what their kit actually is. It helps some. He is more colorful Spanish. Not me!
My books had no other examples of Teracos or Spanish Musketeers. Google who is never your friend was used to find examples.

At first I thought about this dude. Greenish jumper, brownish red pants. But maybe it would be too close to the last group.
I am going with this look. Green pants. Green-tan vest and blue shirt.
Vest;     Model Color 114
Pants;    Foundry 70A
Shirt;     Foundry  73B
Hats;     50/50 72B & Model Color 141 watered down.

I also like this one. Next time for the French when they reach the painting table.

Blood and Plunder "Sale"

Just select the ships you want. Then at check out the discount happens automatically. Minis are not included in the sale. Which sucks as box set went from 70ish to 110ish.

I know I said I would not be doing ship battles or ship to ship boarding actions. Here I go buying ships. I got a Bark and a Tartana. Solely because I like the look of them and they are small.

I was sitting around waiting for shit to happen and went looking. Tercio flags in 28mm. I found the manufacturer of my Tercio minis. Can you guess they sell flags too? Imagine that, and they are in Spain. I got my flags and 30 more minis.

On the Road part III

I am out baby sitting a contract. Nothing is down or broke. Just like a firefighter, I sit and wait. This week I am at a Courtyard. The desk sucks. The lighting and desk lamp suck. There is no place to set my bag. The shower is NICE and it is extra points/reward night month! I won't be staying at another Courtyard, because of the lighting.

There is 2 TVs in the room! And we wonder why America is soooo dummy? Step one in traveling is never turn the TV on. Step two is don't wank yourself to death, or drink yourself to death, or eat everything in sight like a model bitch off the rails. You must take advantage of the time, read as much as you can while out. There is no one to break your balls.

There is a nice place out side to smoke a cigar. So that a plus. It has rained every morning. So smoking a cigar and a wet ass is not so enjoyable.

This week I have B&P Spanish Laceros and Pikemen for the next Tercio. I also grabbed some printed B&P terrain. Sometimes its hard to start or work is interrupting.
