HMGS Fall In 2024 Epic Tourney

Epic tourney was Saturday. We had 13 players. Kal the TO sat as odd out. No one had a by. Dave of course won. Darius and Ben were next. I was in the middle of the pack.

My first game was against Ben's Eldar. He had a macro weapon heavy list. Worst case for my marines that run on being able to take punishment. This was my best game. As in I did not make an error or give away a unit. Ben took me 3 to 2. BTS, TSNP, DTF to my BTS and TSNP.

Second game was Darius' Marines. A slug fest,. BTS, Blitz to BTS, T&H after turn 4. We went to points. I end up 200 point higher.

Third Game was Necrons. 1st time I have played against Necrons. They deploy via teleport. The infantry pop out of gates. The Necron army creates an entirely different game. Every turn is turn 1. Where contact is established you normally expect to break contact or continue to develop the engagement from the initial contact. Necrons break contact at the end of the turn. Then reestablish contact somewhere else. You can quickly find yourself out maneuvered and or out of position.

Imperial Fist is the worst case for them with trenches, bunkers, and 3 detachments on overwatch. I had them locked down on turn 1. Then turn 2 my contact front changed. Turn 3 my contact front became my rear. If I ever face them again, I would castle up, stay frosty and overwatch all I can. Then turn 3 go hells bells.

Dave took first with Darius 5 point off, and Ben just behind Darius. There was a pack of us 15 points off the 1st.
