Audio books and painting "Long War"

All the time traveling I have been listening to the Long War series. The stuff you read or listen to can drive your painting of little men. I read Anglo-Egyptian war the whole time I painted the Fizzy Wizzies. And now I have Greek Hoplites' in my head for hours at a time.

They were assembled and primed from the day in NY. I knew they were there. I found them when I was pulling Romans for Saga. I don't know if they will ever see the table. Its a scatter brain jane event squeezed in while doing other projects.
I am not interested in trying Spartans. Maybe Ionians or Syracuse. Examples of Athens makes you want to paint.
Off I go down the road towards Athens. Why blue? Other than examples of people painting minis and the 2nd three hundred movie, why blue. I don't know of or could very very easily find a reference for Athens and blue or the Owl. Ahh it looks the part, right?

These lads will become every day Greek warriors representing many different cities from game to game. Maybe even Mercs.

Another pulled form the NY days. I will need a Commander or two.

        These lads will be Spartans.
Another group to be Mercs or various city states. All the minis of this type were purchased. Some repainting and highlights, maybe a dip, and then they can be fielded.
